If you can't hit the showers directly after a workout, have no fear! This easy DIY essential oil body spray will help you feel fresh. I've partnered with NOW® to share this DIY body spray recipe with you.
I workout hard on most days. That means I sweat, a lot. Unfortunately, my gym classes aren't first thing in the morning or the last thing I do before bed, and I can't always hop in the shower right after. I've usually got errands to run right after the gym and even though I don't mind looking like a sweaty mess, I definitely do not want to smell like one.
Since I've been adding more essential oils into my daily routine, like using this homemade all-purpose cleaner recipe and homemade bug spray, I decided to see what could create with my oils to help me freshen up after workouts. Turns out, you can easily make a DIY Body Spray with Essential Oils that will leave you feeling and smelling fresh after a sweat session.
I started by gathering my supplies. For this blend, I used 4 different NOW® essential oils. I've amassed a great little collection of essential oils since I visited NOW Foods last year and I've found so many ways to use them in our home. What I love about NOW® essential oils is that they're so incredibly affordable compared with other oils on the market, yet they're high quality. How are they able to keep costs down? They've developed long-term relationships with vendors they know and trust, and they have their own in-house labs for testing ingredients and purity. With NOW®, you can be sure that you're getting exactly what the label says.
For this blend, I used Tea Tree Oil, Lavender, Lemon, and Bergamot oils. I also knew I'd need a spray bottle and now has great 2-ounce glass spray bottles to use. This blend smells so fresh and I just love the way it makes me feel after a workout.
DIY essential oil body spray for post-workout
- 1 ounce (or a bit more) of distilled water
- 7 drops NOW® Lavender Oil
- 7 drops NOW® Bergamot Oil
- 7 drops NOW® Lemon Oil

I recently made this blend for a friend who is training for a marathon and changed the label on her bottle to read: Post-Marathon Freshen-Up Spray. I know she's going to love it and hope it makes her feel refreshed after her long runs.
I'm so ready to tackle my workouts and know that I won't offend anyone when I'm running errands afterward! I hope this DIY essential oil body spray works well for you!

You can really personalize gifts when you make them yourself. The price of essential oils has prevented me from gathering a huge collection but NOW is remarkably reasonably priced.

I need to start using essential oils for my overall health.

I have tried a few essential oils, mostly because I just like the scents. For instance, peppermint always puts me in a good mood because it reminds me of Christmas.

Very interesting! How is this applied? Is it the same as a normal deodorant spray.
Ruth V. says
Hi Kate! It's not an underarm deodorant, just a spritz. So you can spray it all over your body.
