Have you ever experienced the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival at Walt Disney World? It's an incredible event that even photos can't do justice, but I'll try! As a Disney partner, my family had the opportunity to attend this years festival and it was a one-of-a-kind day.
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is an annual event held this year from March 6th-June 3, 2019. Every year there are a variety of attractions for all ages and this year our family had such a great time taking in the sights! I can't imagine the time put into this event, but as with everything Disney-related, it's over the top perfection. Everywhere you look, there are flowers and foliage.
Topiary Displays, Exhibits, and Gardens
During this festival, Epcot is filled with incredible topiary displays featuring some of our favorite Disney characters. The detail put into these displays is amazing, and my kids loved pointing out each character they recognized. My favorite was the classic Mickey and Minnie Mouse, but we loved seeing all of the others including Snow White, Pluto, Chip & Dale, and more!
Events and Tours
There are events and tours going on during the festival as well, where you can dig deep into the magic of nature. Check out the tour options:
- Gardens of the World
- Royal Tea Garden Tour
- English Tea Garden presented by Twinings of London
- Behind the Seeds
The Goodness Garden Butterfly House
Our kids' favorite part of the day was the Goodness Garden Butterfly House. Have you ever seen a chrysalis? Check out hundreds below, which will open over the next few weeks. The Goodness Garden area is full of plants that butterflies love. There's also an astounding amount of information about the varieties of plants and their different functions for butterflies. Our son was really interested in learning all the facts, while our daughter was delighted to see the beautiful butterflies!
Specialty Food and Drink
Throughout the park, you can find specialty drinks and food from a variety of vendors. My favorite treat was this Violet Lemonade, a refreshing frozen beverage appropriately served with a violet! Epcot offers outdoor kitchens for foodies of all ages, so you can indulge in flavors from different countries featuring fresh honey, flowers, and more.
Kids Activities
As I mentioned before, there are events for people of all ages happening during the International Flower & Garden Festival. We loved meeting some of our favorite characters, as usual!
Here are some of the other kids activities you can participate in:
-
Spike's Pollen Nation Exploration Scavenger Hunt
- Egg-stravaganza Scavenger Hunt
- Interactive Play Areas
- Mariachi Cobra - The Story of Coco
- Garden Rocks Concert Series
The majority of the events available are included in the price of your ticket to Epcot, though a few are an additional cost. You can check out the International Flower and Garden Festival website to plan your trip! The event is one of the most beautiful that Disney offers annually, and it has easily become one of our family favorites.
