Is a tropical getaway calling your name? I'm going to tell you how you can get all of the perks of Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas for less, thanks to Comfort Suites Paradise Island.
In June, I hopped on a 55-minute flight with my dad and 4-year-old son for a press trip to Nassau Paradise Island. As soon as I saw the turquoise waters of the Bahamas, I knew all my worries were behind me. I immediately felt relaxed and it was incredible to spend time with my family in such a family-friendly vacation spot. There is so much to do in Nassau and Paradise Island, but one of our favorite things was relaxing at Atlantis Resort. If Atlantis doesn't fit your budget though, I'm going to share a tidbit of information with may change everything: you can get all of the perks that come with staying at the Atlantis for LESS. How? Just book a room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island
The Comfort Suites Paradise Island is a Nassau Bahamas hotel that's adjacent to Atlantis Paradise Island. How adjacent? Well, it's about a 3-5 minute walk to the front doors of the Atlantis. All guests enjoy complimentary access to the Atlantis facilities, including access to Aquaventure water park that boasts multiple water slides, several amazing pools, a mile-long lazy river ride, and an awesome kid's area. You'll also be able to receive signing privileges in Atlantis restaurant and lounges. Be sure to check out my article about things to do with kids in Nassau Paradise Island to get more details about Aquaventure, Dolphin Cay, and the Atlantis Marine Habitat.
When you want to spend time at the Atlantis, all you have to do is "check-in" downstairs (just past the casino and across for the Marine Habitat) to receive a wristband that gives you full access to the water park and beach. Considering that a day pass to Aquaventure and the Atlantis beaches and The Dig! costs $139 for adults and $80 for kids 12 and under (and availability is limited), this is a HUGE value. Staying at Comfort Suites could potentially save you hundreds of dollars, which is just plain smart.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island Review
We were booked in a suite with 2 double beds and found the room to be quite spacious. There was a standard restroom with a bathtub (which is great for families with little kids), a small refrigerator (again, amazing when you're traveling with kids who need things like milk and tons of snacks), a living area with a sleeper sofa, desk and 2 chairs. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi for guests.
The beds were comfy and we had plenty of room to move about and store our stuff. The only thing that was slightly lackluster was the water pressure, but it certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker for staying there again. I would in a heartbeat.
Crusoe's Restaurant (with metal roof) and poolside bar at Comfort Suites Paradise Island.
As we've come to expect from Comfort Suites, there's complimentary hot breakfast included with your stay. We enjoyed breakfast each morning at Crusoe's Restaurant and loved how they offered a little something different each day. There was always an assortment of cereals, yogurts, fruits, pastries, juices + coffees, and a waffle maker, but there were other options like bacon and eggs that rotated.
The pool was large and never even near capacity during our stay (probably because most guests were taking advantage of being able to use the facilities at Atlantis for FREE).
There's a great swim-up bar if you're in the mood for a cocktail, or you can order from Crusoe's Restaurant. Speaking of Crusoe's, we had dinner there one night and they're really accommodating with requests, especially for picky little eaters. They even have "kids eat free" coupons available at the front desk which were offered to us upon check-in.
Right across the street from the Comfort Suites, and along the short walk to Atlantis Paradise Island, is the Marina Village. Here you'll find 20 designer and retail shops and dining options galore. I'd highly recommend Bimini Road which offers Caribbean food and Murray's Deli for more casual dining; our meals at each place were excellent.
Also, directly across the street from Comfort Suites is a shopping center that has a general convenience store, Dunkin Donuts, and a few other shops to suit your needs. This is great for grabbing a quick bite on the go without a hefty price tag and for stocking up on supplies like water or sunscreen.
Our stay at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island was exactly what I was hoping for. It was relaxing and gave us full access to Atlantis Paradise Island, where we made so many wonderful memories.
