We love American Girls in our household. When I heard there was a new app coming out, I had to check it out! I've partnered with American Girl and Mattel to share the launch of the brand new WellieWishers: Garden Fun App, and give you a chance to win a WellieWishers doll!
Growing up, I read ALL of the American Girl books I could get my hands on. Felicity was my favorite American Girl, and reading about her trials and experiences helped me get through some of the issues I had as a preteen. Plus, I loved learning about things that people my age may have experienced during the colonial times. As soon as I had a daughter, I knew I wanted to introduce her to the American Girl world, and WOW has it expanded since I was young!
My daughter is four (and a half! as she would add) and she's a little young for the American Girl series, but their WellieWishers dolls are absolutely perfect for her right now! Willa, Camille, Ashlyn, Kendall, and Emerson make up the sweet and silly group. The WellieWishers do their best to show kindness to others while wearing their bright rain boots (wellies!). With the help of Aunt Miranda, the girls play in a backyard garden and explore themes about being a good friend.
We recently bought some of the WellieWishers books and my daughter and I are having so much fun reading them. We're getting to know each girl and my daughter just adores Willa. They share a love for animals and a sense of outdoor adventure! When I heard that Mattel and American Girl were teaming up to release a free WellieWishers app, I knew right away that our daughter would love it.
American Girl WellieWishers: Garden Fun App
WellieWishers: Garden Fun is the perfect app for children ages 4-8. With a variety of activities, it keeps my daughter busy while teaching her positive messages. I love knowing that the app is appropriate and that she can learn core American Girl values from it!
The first thing you can do in the app is name and tend to your own garden. You can check back in every day to tend to your garden and watch your seeds grow! Our daughter loves watering and watching her carrots grow and removing the cute little snails when they try to eat her crops.
Each of the WellieWishers has her own backyard area with some of her favorite things. You can customize and decorate each setting with the WellieWishers friends, adorable animals, and flowers! My daughter loves to move the girls around and has been actively collecting acorns so she can 'buy' ALL of the animals.
There are a couple in-app purchases you can make in the WellieWishers: Garden Fun App, and our daughter has had a blast with those too! You can buy outfits and accessories to further customize each girls' look which is so fun. I love seeing the creative costumes my daughter comes up with! You can also personalize your own tea party, down to the pattern on the tea kettle.
My daughter's favorite part of the app is Camille's Mermaid Tale: A Hidden Object Game. She loves helping the WellieWishers search for items before their friend Camille's party! There's even a hint icon that can help if the object is too difficult to find.
Our daughter is loving the WellieWishers: Garden Fun App! I can't wait to show her more of the American Girl world. My plan is to take her to the American Girl Store when she gets a little older, so she can experience ALL of the magic!

We just got this app and it's so much fun. My son, daughter and I had a blast playing in the Welliewishers garden. The kids thought it was the funniest thing to make some of the Welliewishers really big and some tiny. Kids are funny. We all enjoyed planting flowers in and around Willa's garden. I love how each doll has a personality and character traits that reflect girls the same age range. As the grandmother of three, (soon to be 4!) granddaughters, I'm a fan of American Girl dolls. The older girls have a nice collection of them.
