The baby is just about to that ripe old age when she gets kicked out of our bedroom and set up in her own room down the hall. Its always sad for me to not have them so close to me at night, but then its also so nice to get a little more sleep when them in their own nursery. We're moving this month and get to start with a clean slate of a room, and I've set out to fill it with the cutest decor and finest furniture. Having already reviewed an upholstered chair from Delta Children, I knew I could count on them for sturdy furniture of fine construction, and at no cost to facilitate this review, I was pleased as ever to review the Benbridge Upholstered Glider, in addition to an nursery storage kit.
I always wonder about shipping when it comes to ordering furniture. You never know if it will be packaged well enough to avoid damage and just exactly how much assembly will be required. You can rest easy knowing that these gliders from Delta Children are sent well packaged and assembly is minimal.
The glider comes in three pieces totaling 80 pounds, and basically all you need to do is slide the back rest into the pre-assembled grooves and insert two screws from the bottom. The above hardware is honestly all you need, and it will take you less than 5 minutes. The assembled dimensions are 30.25" length x 32.50" width x 35.75" height. I did the entire assembly myself and completely impressed my husband, but I didn't tell him how it was actually a piece of cake.
The gliding components are strong, heavy duty, and built to withstand weight and wear. I'm so pleased that the hardware is quiet as can be. There are no squeaks or irritating noises since it is made of durable steel instead of wood, and the rocking motion it creates is natural, comfortable, and easy to rock with my feet. Being 5' 2", it can be difficult to find a chair where I can sit all the way back and still not have my feet dangle, but in this glider, I can rest comfortably and my feet still touch the ground. This was clearly designed with the mother and baby in mind, and I feel like it would be comfortable and ergonomic to many, if not all, body types.
There are so many things I love about this glider, especially the fact that it doesn't look like one. It looks like a plush upholstered chair and you don't actually know that it can glide and swivel until you sit in it. I feel like it takes up less space than a rocking chair or tradition glider, and this is a piece of furniture that can age with your child. This looks like it could be a classy chair in a teenager's room, an adult's bedroom, or even the living room after you are done using it in the nursery. It could float around the house and be used where you need it at different stages of life.
The seat cushion is removeable and stays in place with a strong velcro strip, so you can relax about inevitable spills because you can always take off the cover to wash. The entire glider is made in a microfiber fabric that naturally repels stains, and the soft dove grey is a lovely versatile color that can coordinate with a number of decor themes. The low arm rests are thickly padded and are the perfect height for nursing and playing with baby!
I am really looking forward to having this glider in our home for years and years to come!
Another excellent product for your nursery is a the Delta Children 48-piece Nursery Storage Set.
The thing about babies is that they have a ton of little things that need organizing! Little outfits, little shoes, little socks, and the list goes on and on. This is an excellent starter kit for arranging your nursery in a way that hides clutter, compartmentalizes, and gives the room a uniform look.
Included are 30 velvet hangers that are child-size and grooved to hold onto lightweight and tiny outfits, dresses, sweaters, etc. You also get some really handy closet dividers with stickers so that you can further arrange what is hung in each section. This really comes in handy when your baby is growing so fast and you want to be able to see what you own in the next size up. The six-shelf hanging organizer is perfect for things you want to be able to grab quickly, like diapers or pajamas!
Within the hanging organizer, you can fit these three printed storage drawers, which are perfect for storing all those small items like socks and tights, up to bodysuits, burp cloths, and baby bibs.
Also included in this deluxe kit are two large boxes with lids that are great for holding large amounts of clothes, shoes, bedding, toys, you name it. I love how all of these items can be broken down flat so that you can store them away when not in use. I feel like this kit contains the right variety of box sizes to equip the large and small components of a nursery while creating a lovely cohesive look.
And there you have it! A very inclusive kit that will help you keep all of your baby nursery items organized and put away. I am thrilled to have all these Delta Children items in my baby's nursery, and will really enjoy using and recommending them!
