Speck iGuy Case for Apple iPad Review

I was sent a sample for this review.
When I was contacted about reviewing an iPad case geared for children, I was a bit hesitant. It's not easy handing an expensive item over to a child to play with. But, I figure it's bound to happen eventually so I might as well protect my investment as much as possible. I received the Speck iGuy iPad Case in Mango for review. This colorful free-standing foam case is compatible with the iPad 2, 3, and 4. MobileFun also has an iGuy for iPad minis as well!

The Speck iGuy iPad case is super easy to slip on and off of your iPad. It fit my iPad 2 perfectly. This case is awesome for little hands! The arms are perfectly sized for little ones to grab onto and hold. The foam body is firm, yet squeezable. My little guy was completely fascinated by him! Since the iGuy has been put through rigorous drop-testing, I feel pretty confident in letting my child explore the iPad.

I love that this case is free standing so you can set him up to watch a video. It's got great cut out ports so you can still access all of the function buttons and charging ports on your iPad. The fit is perfect on my iPad 2, but I love that it's compatible with the new models as well so if I'd ever like to upgrade, I don't need to spend additional money on a new case.
I also used the iGuy case so I could see how it works from an adult's perspective. I mostly use my iPad while browsing the web on my couch or while I'm in bed. It's not your usual chic, sleek case, but I have to say, it definitely made using my iPad more comfortable. The legs allow the iPad to sit up a little higher in your lap which made for better viewing. However, the case doesn't really do you any good if you want to view your iPad in portrait mode. You'll probably just want to stick to landscape for the most part.
Overall, I really like our Speck iGuy iPad case. It's perfect for little hands and despite it's childish appearance, it's actually quite comfortable for adult use as well. My little one is a bit rough on electronics and I feel confident that the iGuy will be able to protect our iPad.
UPDATE (2016) - We had this case for about 2 years before my toddler broke our iPad (and it was all because I took it out of this case - deep regrets people!). This case saved that iPad many, many times and to this day I think it's one of the best things I've ever reviewed. In fact, I bought another one for our new iPad mini. If you have kids, don't think twice about ordering an iGuy.

Buy it: You can purchase a Speck iGuy on the Amazon.com and it's worth every penny!
Win it: One lucky person will win a Speck iGuy case for the iPad or iPad Mini from Mobile Fun!

I just picked one of these up for kiddo to use on the off occasion. I love that it doesn't look like a baby's toy like the other one that I used to have to screw and unscrew to put it on and off. Oh, and I really like how easy it is to swap it out of my normal case and get it into her 'orange man' case, then back into mine again 🙂
