The inside of the Smart One 3.0 is made of 100% organic cotton. No pesticides or chemicals were used in growing this cotton, so you don't have to worry about any harmful residue coming into contact with your sweet baby's skin. This cotton is soft, and I mean SUPER soft. It's softer than any other organic diaper I've come into contact with.
It's hard not to draw comparisons between this diaper and the bumGenius Elemental since they are both one-size AIOs made with organic cotton. If you aren't familiar with the Elemental, it's got a very absorbent attached soaker system that is made up of of 6 layers of organic cotton. The soakers are attached in the front AND the back which makes the drying time exponentially longer in my opinion.
The Smart One 3.0 has a tongue-style soaker system that is attached in the back only. This allows you to customize the absorbency to where you need it. You can fold it to have more absorbency in the front for your little man or more absorbency in the middle for your little lady. There are 10 layers of organic cotton lining the inside of the Smart One 3.0 making it super absorbent! Having the soaker attached at the back only really helps the drying time. This diaper is completely dry after only one cycle in the dryer! I am completely amazed every time.
Now, onto the fit. Most of the one-size diapers I have 10 snaps along the waist so it took me a minute or two to figure out the correct settings for my little guy. Once I achieved the perfect fit I was really impressed with this diaper. Since my baby is only 7 months old, most one-size diapers have a bit of extra bulk to them, which is expected since they'll need room to grow. The Smart One 3.0 is trim and fits beautifully. I mentioned earlier that the leg elastic is a little more generous in this diaper - it doesn't leave any red marks on his thighs or back. It's gentle but still does it's job of containing messes.
Since it's made of organic cotton it likely won't reach it's state of maximum absorbency until it's been washed up to 10 times. I prepped this diaper 4 times before it's first use and haven't had a single leak! It's super absorbent!
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Smart One 3.0 to anyone looking for a high-quality cloth diaper made of natural fibers. It's trim, performs extremely well, and dries quickly. It also comes in super cute colors and prints. And, it's MADE IN THE USA! I've been reaching for this diaper first on diaper laundry day and would love to have at least a few more in my stash!
The price point is actually a little better than other organic AIOs at $23 for solids and $25 for prints - but considering you're buying USA made and supporting the US economy I think it's that's a great price.

I would love to try an AIO, right now my 2 month old is in prefolds and covers. I need to branch out and try something like this, I might like it better. 🙂

I would love to try this diaper. Organic cotton materials and US made are definitely good selling points. I like that it dries quickly too which is always an issue with AIOs.

my hubby and i are plannign for our first. we are tossing back and forth the idea of cloth versus g-diapers, versus commercial ones. i say definitly no to commercial ones. i saw my half-sister do the laundry service oldfashioned ones and i was disgusted at the cleaning up. how do these wash up? how do they hold up to disinfection? and how do you disinefect the washer afterthem?

I love that it's made in the USA and organic! My husband is vary wary of cotton diapers because old-fashioned ones were cotton and notorious for diaper rash according to him. I'd love to try one of these to show him how good cotton can be.

I have never tried an AIO diaper before because my son is such a heavy wetter and I was always so worried that there wouldn't be enough flexibility in inserts. But the pictures in this review have really shoved me over into wanting to try one now!

So awesome to find another organic cotton AIO! And I love the tongue feature that is only attached on one side versus at both ends as with the Bumgenius Elementals. Can't wait to try one out!
