    PMD Personal Microderm Review!
    PMD Personal Microderm
This mama is getting old! Now that I'm in my 30's, my skin is really starting to show it's age. My skin tone is slightly uneven, I have noticeable dark spots and those fine lines and wrinkles are becoming more prominent. I decided to "Celebrate ME" with a Personal Microderm kit!
Personal Microderm (PMD) was created to bring the benefits of professional microderm abrasion to you at home! PMD works just like a professional treatment, without the hassle of scheduling and traveling to appointments or the cost! It works to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, age spots and enlarged pores.
Microderm is designed to break apart and remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Your body will interpret this as a mild injury and work overtime to replace these lost skin cells with healthy new ones. This will improve the tone and texture of your skin, while improving the appearance of sun damage, blemishes, fine lines, and dark spots. Another benefit of microderm is that with the surface layer of the skin removed, skin care products can be more fully absorbed and therefore more effective. All of those expensive, restorative creams can really do their job when combined with the power of microderm.
The PMD system is ideal for those wanting to rid fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, skin discolorations, and for those who want smooth, even-toned skin; in other words ME! I was so excited to receive the PMD system for review.

The PMD system includes the following:
    • 1 personal microderm
    • 7 exfoliating discs (1 white training, 2 green and 4 blue)
    • 1 electric cord (Standard U.S. Outlet)
    • 1 facial cap
    • 1 body cap
    • 1 reusable filter
    • Instructional DVD and Pamphlet.
To get started, it's imperative to watch the Instructional DVD. It contains important information and demonstrations so you can know how to correctly use the PMD system without taking off too much skin. Next, you'll want to prepare your skin for treatment. Thoroughly cleanse your skin to remove all make up, dirt and oil. You want a clean, dry surface to work with.
Next, you'll want to choose your disc. There are three different colored discs included with the PMD kit. One white training disc, four blue discs for sensitive skin, and two green discs for medium strength abrasion. Furthermore, they are sized to work either on the face/more delicate areas (smaller disc) or the body (larger disc). There are corresponding caps to work with the small or large discs. Just push your chosen disc down firmly onto the PMD device post. Twist on the corresponding cap and check to make sure the disc is sitting slightly below the plastic cap.
    PMD Personal Microderm
For your first treatment, you'll use the white training disc below your ear to test how your skin will react. Once you understand how the PMD system works and your skin tolerates the white disc, you can move onto using the blue disc.
My mom was gracious enough to demonstrate while I took pictures.
    PMD Personal Microderm
With your free hand, pull your skin taught, then move the PMD system in an upward motion over the entire area you want to treat. It's important to keep the PMD moving and not to make more than 2 passes over any one area, otherwise you risk removing too much skin. That's about as complicated as it gets! Following the treatment, use a toner to neutralize the pH balance of your skin, then apply moisturizer to aid in the recovery process. Wait 6 or 7 days between treatments to allow your skin ample recovery time.
After my first two treatments, my skin is smoother and those dark spots are slightly faded. After each treatment there is a distinct tingling sensation that tells me that I'm getting results. I can't wait to see how my skin looks after 6 and 12 weeks! I think it's so important to take steps now to improve the appearance and texture of your skin so you're not playing "catch up" years down the road.
Take a look at these amazing before and after images from the PMD website:

Also, the PMD YouTube channel has several great videos and reviews for the PMD system. Here is a video showing real people and their real results after using PMD!
The PMD system is very easy to use and brings real results, right in the comfort of your own home! Wouldn't you love to try to the PMD system?? To "Celebrate You," PMD has offered to give one lucky reader a PMD system of their own!
Connect: You can connect with PMD on Facebook and follow them on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube.

I like that cleaning is so easy. Use alcohol to clean the cap, rinse off the dfilter, replace the disk every few treatments.

Microdermabrasion is exfoliating with a vacuum suction?? I do try to exfoliate everyday but I think that I may need more because I do not see the results like what they have! I have had YEARS of acne and had 2nd degree sunburn on my face years ago and lets just say my skin is just so uneven and scarred up from years of abuse and I'm ONLY 26......:(

The device uses aluminum oxide micro crystals to gently sand the skin and it is virtually risk-free. It helps fade uneven pigmentation, cleans out clogged pores, promotes new collagen growth and leaves you having beautiful, youthful skin.
