Travel in Style with Petunia Pickle Bottom! Travel Train Case and Powder Room Case Review

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

I know I've talked about my obsession with love for diaper bags before, but have I mentioned how much I love Petunia Pickle Bottom? I was first introduced to this brand in 2010, and since then I've been captivated. My friend showed off her boxy backpack and ever since that day, Petunia Pickle Bottom has been in my sights. Their bags and accessories are collected and coveted by women worldwide and it's no surprise why - they are amazing! They've gone way beyond simply making hip diaper bags; they've become a thriving lifestyle brand known the world over! I was over the moon when I learned I'd get the opportunity to review a few of their travel pieces.

Since having a child, my inner fashionista has suffered. I'm sure many of you can relate. Sometimes I walk into a store to purchase some new things for myself and come out empty handed, except for three bags of clothing I end up buying for my toddler... see how that works?! Well, Petunia Pickle Bottom is a prime example of how you can retain your style. Their items are super fashionable yet functional, especially their accessories line. I have one of Petunia Pickle Bottom's Cake Society Satchels and not only do I adore it, but I feel way more put-together when I'm carrying it.

Petunia Pickle Bottom sent me a Travel Train Case and Powder Room Case in the super gorgeous print Casbah Nights  (at no cost to facilitate this review). Let me tell you, I had a HARD time picking out which print I wanted. Their selection of glazed prints is fabulous, but Casbah Nights just spoke to me and I knew it was "the one" for me. Let me start by talking about the Travel Train Case.

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

As I mentioned above, I received the Travel Train Case in a glazed print. That means the outer cotton canvas fabric of the case is glazed with a PVC-Free protective coating to make it sturdy, thick and easy to wipe. It's great, low-maintenance fabric that's perfect for travel and on-the-go moms. You simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth and you're good to go. There is a zip around closure and in true Petunia Pickle Bottom fashion, every detail is perfect, including the sewn logos on the fabric zipper pulls.

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

The case measures 9.5” W x 6.25” H x 6” D and is such a perfect size for travel; not too big but it holds a ton of stuff! There is one main compartment and six open interior pockets (one on each side is slightly elasticized). There's also a great zippered pocket on the top interior side of the case. The interior fabric is Onyx and water-resistant, which in my opinion, is a must-have for travel cases.

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

We recently took a family vacation to the beach for a week, and as you can see in the photos above, I was able to fit all of my toiletries in this case with room to spare! Those are full size tubes of shampoo, conditioner, and toothpaste, just to give you an idea on sizing. The Travel Train Case also fit nicely into my carry-on sized suitcase.

I also had the chance to review the Powder Room Case in Casbah Nights. This travel-sized cosmetics case is not only lovely to look at, it's perfect for carrying in your diaper bag to hold essentials for a day out, or for packing your make-up collection.

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

Like the Travel Train Case, I received a glazed print in the Powder Room Case. The outside feature the same lovely onyx and slate medallion design on Glazed coated cotton canvas. There is a wide zippered opening so you can easily access your items, plus there's a zippered pocket along the back of the case for even more organization.

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

This case measures 8.5” W x 4.5” H x 2.25” D, and I was really surprised how much actually fits inside it. This is all of the make-up I'd normally use (plus the foundation and powder I keep on hand for extra make-up needed kind of days) and it all fits perfectly. There's an interior slip pocket that's perfect for keeping my brushes separate from the rest of the make-up and the interior Onyx fabric is also water-resistant. The Powder Room Case was absolutely perfect for our trip! This has now become my everyday case, and I slip it right into my diaper bag. Now I just need the coordinating weekender, and I'll be all set for any travel scenario! (hint, hint Mr. V.)

    Petunia Pickle Bottom

These travel cases made packing for my vacation and traveling a whole lot easier (and more fabulous!). I'd definitely recommend them!

It is obvious that Petunia Pickle Bottom puts a lot of thought into the bags they make and the colors and patterns are so different and pretty, I like that they are coated and therefore can be wiped clean, I like the different weekend bags, they are beautiful and then this travel case would be perfect on vacation. Thank you for sharing this review.

The smaller one for the diaper bag seems perfect for most mom's needs. The larger one wouldn't fit in my carry on luggage with all of my clothes and things so I'm thinking it's more of a storage bag for things in the medicine cabinet than suitable for travel. If I had these, I'd keep the smaller one and probably give the larger one away as a gift.

I still have a cosmetic bag set that I rec'd as an engagement gift 18 years ago. I loved it and it's gotten a lot of use but the interior lining is torn. Also, it's one big cloth bag(no interior pockets) w/handles and 2 matching smaller zippered pouches. Also, since it's cloth, it's not that stain-resistant and/or easy to clean.
