This onion dip recipe is definitely a crowd-pleaser. But, be prepared because you may not want to share it! This dip has become a staple at our holiday parties because everyone loves it; even with people who don't particularly like onions that much!
For the past few years, my sister-in-law's best friend has been bringing this AMAZING onion dip to all of our holiday gatherings. At first, I was like, "No big deal, it's just onion dip." Then, once I tried it I couldn't stop eating it. It is seriously THAT good. This onion dip recipe is also ridiculously easy to make. Special thanks to Ivette for sharing her recipe with me
What makes this the best onion dip recipe?
Besides the fact that it's easy to make, you might have most of the ingredients already. The trick to having the best onion dip is sweet Vidalia onions. Seriously, Vidalia onion dip is the best onion dip out there.
You don't need any fancy tools to make this, but if you don't have one of these onion slicers you might check them out. They make chopping so much easier and you can use them for potatoes, peppers, hardboiled eggs, and much more.
The other ingredient you'll want to make sure you use is a quality mayonnaise. Onions, mayo, and parmesan cheese. I like to add a little sprinkling of Ritz Crackers to the top for extra texture too. That is it! You're going to have the best onion dip recipe in town.
You can make this in little individual crocks like I've shown here (or in these adorable Rachel Ray crocks), or you can make it in a larger glass dish. Whatever look you're going for.
