Getting your little ones on a routine is one of the most important parenting lessons I've learned. Kids thrive on structure and routine and knowing what comes next. We started early with our little guy and got into a great rhythm, and it was even easier with our little lady since she had such a great example to follow from her big brother. One thing that we found that helped in many aspects of parenting has been charts. Between our trusty chore chart and our kids daily routine chart, we've got a really good thing going, and we've partnered with Tom's of Maine to bring it to you.

We have these little charts printed out and posted in our kids' rooms to help guide them through their morning and evening routines. They're great since they have an image of a child doing each activity and the words to go along with it. They're perfect for toddlers and little readers alike.
Another thing we've found that helps our kids stick with their daily routines is having the right products to make their "tasks" more enjoyable. If you have a toddler, you know that sometimes the smallest thing can throw him or her for a loop; like handing her a purple cup instead of pink. Who knew such a thing could wreak havoc on her life?! So, we try to think of the little things that will help keep our kids on task. We lay out their clothing and gather their school items together the night before, discuss which book they want to read before bed during dinnertime, and always make sure they toothpaste and toothbrushes are within reach and ready to go.
I mentioned having the right products on hand, and one of the brands we love is Tom's of Maine. Their Toddler Training toothpaste is fluoride-free and has no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. The fruit-flavored, clear gel gently cleanses the teeth and gums without harsh chemicals like SLS or propylene glycol. It's specially formulated for children 3 to 24 months and it's safe if swallowed. It's such a great stepping stone to ingrain those healthy habits. I also love the Tom's of Maine children's toothbrushes. They're soft and gentle, and perfectly sized for little hands to hold.
Of course, this "big girl" thinks she can do it all on her own. I love how she stands on her little tippy toes to check herself out in the mirror while brushing. Just like her big brother.
