This tribute to the Sanderson Sisters can be done in so many ways. With a quick trip to the grocery store and you'll be able to whip it up in under 30 minutes.
What is a charcuterie board?
Charcuterie describes a French shop that specializes in cured pork products. Think salami. In America, you might think of it as a deli. A charcuterie board usually contains different types of cured meats along with a variety of cheeses, nuts, fruits, olives, crackers, and accompanying condiments like mustards and honey.
This Hocus Pocus charcuterie board includes an assortment of kid-friendly options. My kids wouldn't appreciate fancy cheeses and exotic ingredients, so I stuck to the basics. I also added some sweet treats for fun.
For the faces of the Sanderson Sisters, I chose mozarella cheese. I purchased one small block of cheese and cut it into three long slices. I then trimmed the edges to make them more oval.
For their eyes, I used chocolate covered raisins and for the lips I cut little hearts out of strawberries.
For Sara Sanderson, I used more mozarella cheese for her long blonde hair. This time, I cut up two cheese sticks and laid them out. Her purple and red dress was created with purple grapes and raspberries.
Winifred Sanderson's hair is made from rolled pepperoni. For her green dress, I wanted to use green grapes, but I forgot them and had to use green apples I had on hand.
Mary Sanderson's hair is made from blackberries. Her dress was simply crafted from strawberries.
Simply add some crackers and seasonal candy and you'll be ready to go!
