Harry Potter Audio Books from Pottermore Review

    pottermore

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Pottermore. All opinions are my own.

I know I've mentioned it on social media a few times, but I love to read. More specifically, I LOVE to read a good series of books. I get attached to the characters and enjoy watching them develop over the course of each book, so it's probably not a big surprise that I really loved reading the Harry Potter series. With seven hefty books in the collection, I was enthralled, entertained, and I devoured them. Lately though, after spending hours (upon hours) at the computer each day, I've noticed that I get a slight headache towards the evening and the last thing I want to do is read. So, when Pottermore.com asked me to review a Harry Potter Digital Audio book, I jumped at the chance. Listening to one of my favorite books sounded perfect to me.

If you aren't already familiar with Pottermore.com from J.K. Rowling, let me tell you a little more about it. This website gives Harry Potter fans the chance to experience more from the world of Harry Potter. Just because the series is finished doesn't mean the fun has to stop. You can explore Harry’s story in an interactive way, discovering more about unknown parts of the Harry Potter stories including sub-plots, character backstories, and J.K. Rowling’s thoughts as she was writing the books. Pottermore.com is also the only place where the Happy Potter audiobooks are available for purchase.

    Harry Potter Audio book

I was able to download the first book in the series, the "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" audiobook to review. The process was super simple and the Pottermore.com website guided me right through the download and "unzipping" process. As soon as the book was loaded and I unzipped the file, it loaded right away in on my iTunes player. In case you're wondering, Books purchased from the Pottermore Shop can be downloaded for your personal use multiple times, at no additional cost. Each item can be downloaded on up to eight different devices (which is awesome!) that support MP3 audio format. That's one thing that has always bothered me about using Apple or Android devices and their specific "stores" - the incompatibility issues. When I purchase a movie for my little guy through iTunes, I hate that I can't access the movie I have every right to watch on his Android tablet. It's infuriating, and this is one more reason why I love the Pottermore Shop.

If you have any experience with audiobooks, then you know sometimes the narration can be a tad boring. Well, the Harry Potter audiobooks, narrated by Jim Dale, are anything but boring! He's got a true gift for story telling and changes his voice for each character. It's really fabulous and he even won a Grammy for his excellent narration. He also set a Guinness World Record for the 134 different character voices he created for the fifth book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Jim Dale truly makes listening to the audiobook an experience and really gets your imagination going.

Although my little guy is only two years old, he's got a really great attention span when it comes to listening to music or watching movies. I've played chapters of this audiobook several times and he actually sits and listens. We have a three-hour road trip coming up next week and I'm excited to bring this audiobook along with us and see how long he'll listen to it. I think the Harry Potter Audiobooks would be perfect for summer road trips, especially long ones since there's over 120 hours of listening across the seven book series.

Another wonderful thing about the Harry Potter series is that these books are really enjoyable for all ages. Children and adults alike will appreciate the amazing world that J.K. Rowling has created in the Harry Potter series and families can come together to listen to these fantastic books.

Wouldn't you love to listen to these books with your family?!

Connect and Buy it: You can visit the Pottermore.com website for more information and to purchase audiobooks, ebooks, and more. You can also connect with Pottermore on Facebook.

I enjoy Pottermore. I have an account and hang out there sometimes. I was late to the Harry Potter game and didn't read the books while they were being released, but now that I'm a fan I enjoy being able to interact with the HP world even though the books and movies have all been released.

I didn't have any problems with uploading it to iTunes so I'm sorry I can't be much help with your Kindle. Good luck!
