Family Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples + Baby!

Did you add a new member to your family this year? If so, we've got some adorable family Halloween costume ideas for couples and a baby!

    family halloween costume ideas

The moment I calculated that my due date with my first child would be in October, thinking of clever Halloween costume ideas became high priority! I LOVE dressing up for Halloween, and I was (and still am) ecstatic about putting together family Halloween costumes. I think a lot of couples have high enthusiasm to do group costumes with their new babies and toddlers, especially because this is the age where kids will wear whatever you put them in without much of a fuss! I've found that the older they get, the more opinions they have about their costume, and its hard to talk them into your grand plan, so if you have a little one this Halloween, pick out some of these ideas and have a blast putting together your trio!

    Family Halloween Costume Ideas

    1. Football, Referee, and Football Player

Our first year as a family, we went as a football, referee, and football player! I found a basic soft football pattern of petal-shaped pieces, and made a hole for the face and a zipper up the back. Our shirts were easy eBay finds, and we got so many fun compliments on this ensemble!

    2. A Burglar, a Cop, and a Money Bag

The next year, we went as a criminal and a cop, and out just-walking toddler made the perfect runaway money bag. I made a basic drawstring sack out of burlap with two holes in the bottom for his legs. The money sign is made of felt, top-stitched in place, but you could totally do this with a hot glue gun!

    That popcorn hat! Stop it!

    4. Rapunzel, Flynn, & Pascal from Cara Loren

The Rapunzel movie might be a few years old, but this trio is still very recognizable!

    5. Little Red Riding Hood, Granny, & the Fox from Why Rinse Chickens

I can see this being a fun theme this year, especially after the "Into the Woods" movie.

    6. Two Chefs and a Lobster

This is perfect for the newly sitting baby, and could be great in a wagon for trick-or-treating!

    7. Wizard of Oz from Moo Moo's & Tutus

I love this one because it is so easy to add to every year! Tack on a Tin Man, a Wicked Witch, Glinda, etc.

    8. Peter Pan from Gourmet by Janae

Same thing with Peter Pan. As you add more family members, there are plenty of characters to choose from: Wendy, the lost boys, Tiger Lily, Smee, the Crocodile...

    9. Gardeners & their Garlic from Say Yes

Just beautiful! I love how this isn't flashy or kitschy, but actually quite sweet and loving. Garlic babies. Darling.

Lastly, since my new little niece is going to be The Hungry Caterpillar for Halloween, I'm really hoping her parents will be the Butterfly & Eric Carle! Please, someone make it happen this year, and share your pictures with us!!

Happy Halloween! PLEASE SHARE ANY MORE IDEAS YOU HAVE!

We never got into any of that with our kids when they were little! Tim isn't one to dress up either! So, we just and do the normal kids dress up and go out trick or treating! These are cute! I like the popcorn one. We are now a family of 4 so I would need one extra costume in there 😉
