You might have seen it on Shark Tank. The Fort Magic Indoor Fort Building Kit looks like an awesome fort building kit for kids, but how great it is really? I've partnered with Fort Magic to give you an honest look at this kit.

    Indoor Fort Building Kit

    Indoor Fort Building Kit

Do you remember building forts as a kid? I know I built my fair share and after having the opportunity to review a Fort Magic kit (at no cost to facilitate this post), I WISH  this amazing kit was available when I little! Not familiar with Fort Magic? This fort building and construction kit allows children to create forts of all shapes and sizes. As you'll see, the possibilities are really endless!

Here is a little information about Fort Magic:

Fort Magic is an innovative fort building and construction toy that enables children to build 3D, kid-created, "life-size" worlds for inventive play! Imagine the hours of excitement at playtime, play-dates, sleepovers and family-time as children build “forts” shaped like pirate ships, castles, playhouses, submarines, airplanes, teepees, tunnels, and so much more…all from just ONE Fort Magic kit! Fantasy becomes reality with Fort Magic through the power of a child's own creative hands! Easy to build, easy to clean up! Fort Magic ignites children's imaginations for hours of creative play!

Fort Magic is different from other building & construction toys available for children because of its unlimited building potential to invent "life-size" creative designs. Children and families LOVE Fort Magic! Repeated “five star” customer feedback on Amazon shows children are playing with and enjoying Fort Magic daily, for months, even for over a year, without getting bored! That’s a toy that inspires and entertains! Bye, bye addictions to electronics...hello quality playtime kids and families love!

Kids love to build forts! There's no doubt about it. Give them a Fort Magic kit and they are happily creating and inventing for hours to come! Whether they are building designs from Fort Magic's manual, or cleverly inventing new designs of their own, kids will have a tremendous amount of fun building with their Fort Magic kit! However, another benefit of building with Fort Magic parents may not realize is that it is also an excellent learning tool for the most important habits of happiness and success! This is what Fort Magic is truly passionate about; combining creativity and learning while having tons of fun!

    Fort Magic

The "magic" behind Fort Magic Indoor Fort Building Kit is large selection of sticks and connectors in each kit. This unique combination allows your child's imagination to run wild! They can quite literally create any design they can think of with just one kit!

The Fort Magic Building Kit comes with the following building supplies (382 pieces!):

    • 165 Straight and Curved Sticks (in seven different sizes)
    • 87 Connector pieces (in five varieties of shapes and sizes)
    • 130 easy to use fabric and accessory clips to securely fasten sheets or fabric to ANY shape design your child invents
    • A full color Instruction Manual with over 20 designs to build
    • A high quality Storage Bag that securely holds all of the Fort Magic pieces, making  clean up quick and easy every time
    • Fabric covers are NOT included

As you can see from the list above, the Fort Magic kit comes with everything you need to construct AMAZING forts! When I opened our kit I immediately grabbed the colorful instruction manual and started looking over the instructions and design suggestions. The Fort Magic kit was created for children ages 5 and up, so I let our toddler sleep through the assembly phase. I did, however recruit Mr. V. to give me a hand.

    Fort Magic

Mr. V. is not generally super excited about reviewing products, but he enthusiastically helped me pick out and assemble our first fort. I think we were both reminiscing about our own fort-building days as children. We figured we should ease into things, so we picked the Fort Magic Tunnel & Fort to start with since it seemed straightforward.

    Fort Magic

You can see from the image above that the full color photos show you exactly which pieces you'll need and how to design your fort. What's great about this kit is that your kids (or you!) can freestyle a design, or stick to the instructions. The manual is really easy to follow and includes all sorts of helpful tricks and tips you can use when assembling (and disassembling) your fort. Once we got going, we had out frame built in just about 15 minutes.

    Fort Magic

After we had our frame assembled, the next step was to add the fabric. As I mentioned earlier, the Fort Magic kits DO NOT come with fabric (yet!). Fort Magic will be releasing fabric covers at some point, but until then you can still have tons of fun by covering your forts with sheets or other materials using the fabric clips provided within the kit. We happened to have a full set of white sheets fresh from the dryer so we used those and a white table cloth to cover our frame and complete our fort. Using the fabric clips was really easy once we got the hang of it. They are really genius little gadgets!

    Fort Magic

I do wish our fort was a bit more colorful, but I don't think our little guy minded the monochromatic color scheme one bit! He woke from his nap to find this huge, awesome fort in our living room and enjoyed every minute of it! He loved playing peek-a-boo and peering into the tunnels to find us. We had such a great afternoon playing together in our cool fort!

    Fort Magic

Of course you'll need to supervise your child closely if they're under the age of 5 since there are small parts like the fabric clips that pose a choking hazard. Thankfully, we haven't had any issues with our little one and the Fort Magic kit, just lots of fun!

Overall, I think this indoor fort building kit is really wonderful! It's so much fun and will provide your children with hours of (unplugged) entertainment. I can't wait for my nieces and nephew to come for a visit. I bet they'll construct some amazing forts!

Buy It: You can purchase the Fort Magic  on their website or on Amazon.com.

How fun! We built forts all the time as kids! We used our couch cushions. Since my kids won't have such options, I love that they could use these compact kits to build so many wonderful forts. I hope to build many forts with my kids. 🙂 It looks like you guys had lots of fun.

I love that these are structurally sound and that directions for so many different designs are included. I'm sure kids would eventually create their forts but having a place to start would be really helpful for tired parents. 😉

I like toys that help a child to build upon their natural creativity and curiosity. My son is constantly using objects in new ways for playtime (like bits of long foam strips for flooring as fishing poles!) so this would be a great match.

I really like toys like this it teaches kids to think about what they want the end result to be. I see to many kids who can't build with legos or wooden blocks and its sad to me. I actually like it not coming with fabric I could easily use some water proof fabric or a tarp and set it up out doors if I wanted

We are always using the throw pillows and blankets and making forts in the living room. It looks like you all had fun! I love how you make so many different configurations! It looks really sturdy and has a great warranty.

So I like the idea of this because building forts is great for kids and even fun for adults. However, the priceis really high, especially when most kids can have just as much fun in a box or with a bunch of couch cushions/pillows...

This looks super fun and easy to set up, though i probably wouldn't use this myself because i have a cat and they would try to lay on it and play on it which would end up ruining it. I can imagine all the children's imagination going on while playing inside, kings in the castle defending dragons or other playful imaginations.

If one can come up with such an amazing idea, the thought of whats going to be designed in the future is left for the dreams! This observation may very well have come from the things I was raised with to use for fun - reading & writing. In this case I think it will be a lot of fun but as mentioned, "it requires adult supervision" to ensure safety of the children!

OMG!!!! Put of all the giveaways, I am most excited for this one. I have 6 kids and if I don't win it I am going to buy it. The older ones can build and the younger ones can join them to play!!' They love forts and they can build castles or teepees or any style they desire. When the get tired of one they can make a different one. This is awesome and you use your own sheets, which is brilliant and saves money. I want two Kits now that I think of it. It'd be fun for us adults to and with two kits man we can build a life size house!!!!!

My daughter loves making forts by draping sheets and blankets over the furniture in our house. She has so much fun moving dining chairs and ottomans around over and over until she’s found the perfect configuration to make her hideaway. Obviously, forts like that don’t really last long. What I love about Fort Magic is that it allows kids to build sturdier (or even permanent, if they wish) forts that they can actually PLAY in, and the endless configuration possibilities doesn’t limit the open-ended, imaginative play that makes fort building so fun to begin with.

My sister and I used to build forts out of anything we could find, and my 7 year old is not enjoying doing the same thing with our stuff, so this would be a great toy! It would be a lot more fun for her and her friends, and I wouldn't be such a mess making sure nothing gets ruined! 🙂 They would definitely enjoy building it, and then more so playing in it. I absolutely love this. I'm going to look into this for her birthday coming up!! Thanks so much for the review and photos!
