My favorite season is here! Fall is the perfect time to cozy up and spend some quality time with family and friends, and what better way to do that than with delicious food and snacks? My friends at BabbleBoxx sent me a variety of items to try out for fall fun and entertaining and I couldn't wait to dig in and try some new things.
There is nothing better than grabbing a comfy blanket and settling in with my kids for a family movie night. And, no family movie night is complete without popcorn. I remember popping kernels with a popcorn maker when I was a kid and it was so much fun. With Orville Redenbacher’s Pop Kits, I can have that same experience with my family now.
These stovetop popcorn kits are preportioned for the perfect pop and are so easy to make. All you have to do is cut, pour, and pop. Cut the packaging and pour the oil and kernels into a 3-quart pot then let the product do its magic and pop on the stovetop. The end result is popcorn perfection. We tried Movie Theater Butter and the Simply Salted version and loved them both.
Each pack makes about 3 servings, which is perfect for us and contains no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes. This yummy snack is so easy and FUN to make.
Another treat that I absolutely love when the weather even hints at getting cooler is a pumpkin spice latte. I've been enjoying this treat for years, but am always on the lookout for new products that align with my lifestyle and dietary needs. Reddi-wip Zero Sugar Whipped Topping is a new product I couldn't wait to try on top of my favorite fall beverage.
Reddi-wip Zero Sugar is a whipped topping made with real cream (not hydrogenated oils like other brands), with 0 grams of sugar, 0 carbs, and 15 calories per serving (Not a low-calorie food). This keto-friendly whipped topping has no artificial flavors but has that same creamy and delicious texture you've come to expect from Reddi-wip.
This treat was SO good. Besides being fun to eat, Reddi-wip Zero Sugar has the perfect taste and texture. I'm going to be adding this to all my creations this season, from waffles to pies and everything in between.
Success Rice has been making my life easier for years. Their boil-in-bag rice has been a staple in my family because it makes cooking rice so simple and it's just plain foolproof. It's really the perfect solution for a quick, easy meal or side dish.
They take all the guesswork out of preparation. The bags are pre-measured and you simply drop them into boiling water for the allotted period of time and voila! You get perfectly cooked fluffy rice or quinoa every time.
Speaking of quinoa, I was so excited when this protein-packed grain became more of a mainstream food in recent years. I eat it so frequently and the fact that I can grab it in boil-in-bags from Success Rice is so convenient. Their Tri-Color Quinoa is a great source of fiber and contains various vitamins and minerals, and all nine essential amino acids. Plus, it tastes so good!
We also love Success Boil-in-Bag Jasmine Rice. This premium, long-grain rice has such a unique and tasty flavor and scent. I use this variety in so many meals and it truly elevates any dish. It's a pantry staple in our home.
Another food that I absolutely love to enjoy in the fall is a hearty meat sauce. It's so satisfying and since I've been trying to eat "cleaner" I've been making sauce myself rather so I can control the ingredients than relying on jarred varieties. One way that I ensure my sauce is packed with yummy flavor is by using Hunt's tomatoes.
Hunt's has just come out with new Basil, Garlic & Oregano Stewed Tomatoes and I couldn't wait to get cooking with them! As soon as I opened the can I could tell they were going to taste amazing. They're sliced and seasoned with the classic trio of Italian spices: basil, garlic, and oregano. These tomatoes have been picked at peak ripeness, naturally steam peeled, and then packed in flavorful spices. They're Non-GMO Project Verified and free of artificial preservatives or ingredients.
I paired Hunt’s Basil, Garlic & Oregano Stewed Tomatoes with their Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes, which are now available in a new 28-ounce size which is perfect for batch cooking) to make a savory turkey meat sauce. Hunt’s Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes add a fantastic boost of smokey flavor to any recipe. These tomatoes are vine-ripened then picked at peak ripeness before being fire-roasted and canned. These tomatoes work so well in so many dishes, like sauces, chilis, tacos, and more.
This recipe is rather simple but so tasty. Finely chop 2-3 cloves of garlic then add to a hot pan with 2 tbsp of olive oil. Once the garlic is lightly sauteed, add 1 pound of ground turkey. Once browned, add one 15-ounce can of Hunt's Basil, Garlic & Oregano Stewed Tomatoes and one 28-ounce can of Hunt's Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine and let simmer for 45 minutes or longer. I usually let mine simmer and reduce for a few hours if I have time. I love to pair it with butternut squash to make a gluten-free meal.
What new foods are you trying for fall?
I'd love to hear about it!
