Easy Witch Costume That You Can Repurpose Later!

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

Hate spending money on Halloween costumes that you can only wear once? I've partnered with Mirum Shopper to share this easy DIY witch costume that you can repurpose after Halloween is over.

    diy witch costume

Halloween was fun when I was a kid, but now that I've got kids of my own it's REALLY fun! I love going all out on their costumes and I even like to get dressed up myself to take them trick-or-treating. Last year I played it simple and picked up a fun superhero t-shirt to coordinate with my little Superman. This year I wanted something a little more sophisticated, BUT I hate spending money on costumes that I can only wear once. That's why I'm putting together my very own DIY witch look with items that I can repurpose long after Halloween ends. I was able to get most of the items right at Target so that's a major plus for this busy mom.

    Easy DIY witch costume

First, you'll need a few things from the Target beauty aisle. Besides some makeup to create a smokey eyes and a rich lip color, you'll need some hair care items from a few of my favorite brands to create a bewitchingly beautiful look. To achieve gorgeous, loose curls with tons of body, pick up TRESemmé® Climate Control Hairspray and Suave Professionals® Keratin Color Care Dry Shampoo, then follow the easy steps below:

    easy witch look

Using Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser to take your makeup off is an old family secret around here. Believe me, it works! Of course you'll be able to use these products after Halloween too. Don't forget to download the Cartwheel app to spooky savings on Unilever products.

Now, onto our easy DIY witch costume. Instead of spending upwards of $80-$100 on a deluxe witch costume that you'll wear just one, skip the green face paint and dated long black dress and go a little glam! I picked up a black tulle skirt a few months ago for less than $30 and I've worn it quite a few times. I wore it with a simple tank top and high heels on a date night with my husband and I plan on doing a little Disney bounding this fall. For this look, pair your tulle skirt with a simple black t-shirt. You can find these anywhere and go as dressy or casual as you'd like. This is definitely an item you can reuse later, or maybe you already have one on hand. You can find the black booties, striped socks and witch hat at Target. And excuse me, but how awesome are those booties?! I'll be wearing them all fall and winter long. Plus, since they're from Target you know you won't be spending a fortune.

Whatever look you decide to go with this year, be sure to head to the beauty aisle at Target to stock up on the products that will help bring your Halloween look to life. Plus, you’ll save with Cartwheel when you add select Unilever personal care products to the cart. Now that's bewitching!

What are you planning to be for Halloween?
I'd love to hear all about it!

This is a really cute & clever way to have an awesome costume that you can take off after Halloween and use the items over and over again. Plus you will look really snazzy on Halloween! I wonder how many different costumes you can do the same thing with...I had my fun on Halloween when my kids were young. Now they have their own Kids & Grand kids to have fun with on Halloween. You have a Safe & Happy Halloween! :O)~~~

Such a great idea!! We used to dress up every year but since having my son we are always so focused on what he'll be we usually end up not dressing up ourselves!! So this year I think I will be a Mom who steals my kiddo's candy 😉 Sounds like a pretty great costume to me 🙂

Love to repurpose. Halloween is only one night. It is silly to spend such money on something only worn once. This is really cute!

Such a great idea. My kids always ask if I'm dressing up but I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on something I will only water for 1 night.

Great ideas - you could probably pick up some of the beauty items just about any where - but Target does have the cartwheel so that is helpful. It is also funny because I think I may go as a witch this year, as well as my oldest daughter - but she is more interested in one of the witches from Harry Potter - so we would look a little different and I already have the hat! Great tips I think I will try them, thanks for sharing!

I love to do family theme costumes, but it doesn't happen anymore now that my kids are older. My husband decided to be a Sith Lord...and I refuse to be a Star Wars character again 🙂 I was not going to dress up, but this is a great idea. A costume and a new outfit rolled into one! Score!

I'd like to be a scary clown, like Killer Klowns from Outer Space or the clown on American Horror Story and do a little video like all the clown sightings that are going around...hahaha

The best thing about this costume is that it can be repurposed. I try to do that with my 4 kids costumes as well.

I love this idea! I've been making my own costumes since sixth grade and now I make my boyfriends little girls. I made a bloody Carrie costume for myself this year and we were all zombies last year. (Makeup and costumes put together at home)
