I love the exhilaration I feel after having a baby and getting all my old clothes back! When I've been limited to the same maternity tops and bottoms for the last x number of weeks, I always revel in getting to wear my wardrobe again! And then I remember than I'm breastfeeding for the next year, and that I only kind of have my wardrobe back. I still can't really wear non-nursing dresses to church or tops that are going to be a hassle to nurse in when I'm out in public. You could say that nursing clothes are frivolous, but when you are exclusively breastfeeding and you are always out and about, the clothes that are easiest to nurse in are going to be the favorite pieces in your closet. Having already been familiar with Seraphine and their classic maternity clothes that I reviewed during my last pregnancy, I turned to them again for some nursing clothes!
At no cost to facilitate this review, I was sent the Blue & White Striped Cotton Nursing Top and the Coral Striped Bamboo Nursing Shawl, and both of them are making nursing in public much easier! This blue and white top is made of cotton and is oh so soft. I think this dipped hem in a long length is so flattering and it also makes this a great maternity shirt as well! Side snaps are are on both sides of the shirt, and are easy to snap and release one-handed, and quickly, if you need to. I've been impressed just with HOW sturdy this snap system is. You don't have to worry about a baby grabbing your shirt and leaving you exposed. It takes some effort to release them, but its not hard to do. I think the the blue stripes look good on everyone, and the subtle nautical style is right up my alley!
This breastfeeding shawl is made of breathable bamboo viscose, so it is ultra soft and still stretchy. Its actually quite a versatile piece, as there are multiple ways to wear it. Whatever your nursing style, you'll keep covered, comfortable, and still look really fashionable. Brass snaps line one shoulder to allow for a larger neck hole or more air for baby, but the great thing about this being made from bamboo is that it is so breathable, its unlikely that either you or baby feel too hot.
It is practically a fashion piece worn on its own, and it can become a super cute scarf around your neck when you're not using it! This is excellent for Spring when the weather is unpredictable and still slightly chilly. The fabric is so soft, I might even use it as a little swaddling blanket when we're out. I love being able to cut down on the number of things I leave the house with.
Seraphine has a number of nursing tops, dresses, sweaters, sleepwear, and bras, but where they really shine is in the maternity clothes department! Head over to see some beautiful dresses that are definitely in a league all their own for fashionable maternity, and check out their absolutely gorgeous designer maternity dresses!! You will swoon!
