Is there anything cuter than little ornament wooden peg dolls? These cuties are fun for both kids and adults to make and they look so adorable on the tree! Here are some fun ideas on how to paint your peggies!
I get together with a bunch of friends every year for an ornament exchange, and some years I draw a complete blank on what to do. I love to paint and I had a stash of these wooden peg people in various sizes, so this year I thought I'd try to make them into something Christmasy. Actually, I did a full wooden peg doll nativity set a few years ago and I still absolutely love it. Wooden peg dolls can be found at most craft stores and on Amazon, but you can also special order sizes and quantities from Etsy sellers.

I love how each of these turned out, but the sweet Mary's are my favorite! (They were also the first to be snatched at our ornament exchange).
The uniqueness of each caroler makes this quite a cute little set. Don't be afraid to add in non-Christmas colors like yellow, pink, and teal, as long as you pair them with a red or green. Don't forget their adorable accessories!
"Santa" is always a good and iconic choice. You could change these up a little by having some holding presents or holly or a sack of toys.
To make these tree-ready, I first drilled a tiny hole in the top of each peg with the smallest bit on the screwdriver. The hole can be shallow, it's just to help you get the hook in steady while you hand-crank it in.
These hooks came from a picture-hanging kit that I found for around $2, or you can order a big variety pack on Amazon for cheap! Tie them up with beautiful ribbons and you've got some gorgeous ornaments!
