When you hear the word bamboo, what do you think about? Some people might say it conjures up pictures of wooden stalks and panda bears, and not buttery soft fabric, but they'd be missing out! Bamboo fabric is truly a luxury. In fact, it's twice as soft as cotton and is 3 degrees cooler. It also wicks moisture away from your body. That's why many resorts around the world, but especially in the Caribbean and Hawaii, use luxuriously soft Bamboo fabric for their linens. That's also why the folks at Cariloha, a combination of Caribbean and Aloha, developed an entire line of bamboo products to keep you as soft and cool as the Caribbean breeze on a hot summer day.
Recently, we replaced our mattress and I knew this would be the perfect time to upgrade our bedding. So, when Cariloha contacted me about reviewing some of their products I figured it was serendipity and sent a request for some of their bed sheets, pillowcases, and a duvet cover. Since you spend ⅓ of your life in bed, shouldn't you wrap yourself in the ultimate comfort bamboo has to offer?

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a sucker for nice packaging. You know what they say about first impressions... well, Cariloha makes an excellent first impression. Their items come perfectly packaged in custom boxes and the sheet set and duvet are even tucked into coordinating fabric bags. I was definitely impressed with the attention to detail and thought these items would present themselves fabulously as gifts. In case you're wondering, I was able to get everything back into their respective bags after laundering. This made my {neat freak} husband swoon since our other sheet sheets look completely unorganized in the linen closet.
I chose Cariloha's Resort Bamboo Bed Sheets in White. They're made from 100% viscose from bamboo, and after unwrapping them I can tell why these are called "Resort" bed sheets. They have a sateen finish are reminiscent of those amazing soft sheets you get to sleep on during your stay at luxury resorts. I was a little nervous about sizing since our new Sealy Posturepedic Premier Hybrid mattress is quite a bit taller than our previous mattress, but the Resort Bamboo Bed Sheets are generously sized to accommodate an 18" deep mattress. We even had room to spare. They're available in 8 beautiful colors and included in the set are a fitted and flat sheet and two pillowcases. These sheets are so incredibly soft and smooth, they remind me of silk.
For the duvet, I selected a Bamboo Duvet Cover in the color Blue Lagoon. This color is GORGEOUS. Like the Resort sheets, this duvet is made from 100% viscose from bamboo and has a soft, smooth sateen finish. The duvet set includes 1 duvet cover and 2 pillow shams (the king duvet measures 102" x 90" and the shams measure 20" x 30"). There's a hidden wooden button closure at the bottom of the duvet so you can easily slip your comforter in. You'll probably want to get a set of comforter clips to keep your comforter from shifting around inside the duvet.
I love the color contrast of the crisp White Resort Sheets and dreamy Blue Lagoon Duvet. Our bed looks so much more inviting now and climbing into bed at the end of a long day is just heavenly thanks to this Cariloha bedding. The fabric feels amazing against my skin and the fact that it's 3 degrees cooler and moisture wicking really helps in our humid Florida environment. Sleeping in these sheets feels like being on vacation in my own home.
Besides looks and comfort, which Cariloha products obviously provide, there are several other reasons to choose bamboo for your home. Bamboo fabrics are an environmentally responsible choice.
