The Best Treatment For Adult Acne. How I Significantly Improved My Acne For Less Than $10.

If you're looking the best treatment for adult acne, you've come to the right place. Not only does this treatment work, it's CHEAP! I'm going to show you how I significantly improved my acne for less than $10 a month.

    Best Treatment For Adult Acne

I took birth control pills for years and had beautiful skin the entire time. It wasn't until I stop taking the pill that I realized I had a lot of skin issues. Seemingly overnight, I started getting large, cystic pimples and blackheads. It was a shock, to say the least. I tried all types of face washes and toners and very few worked at all. Some worked at first but then it was like my skin got used to them. It wasn't until I tried Rodan and Fields Unblemish that I got some relief from my acne. It definitely worked to decrease my breakouts, cystic acne and reduced the dark spots on my face. The only downfall I found with Unblemish was the expense.

I still love the Rodan and Fields Unblemish line (be sure to check our my Unblemish Review to see my before and after photos), but I started to wonder if there was a more cost effective alternative for people who can't afford $180+ every other month for skin care. When I was routinely using the Rodan + Fields Unblemish system, I thought the face wash was fantastic. My skin felt better almost immediately after using it. So, when I set out to find a cheaper alternative, I looked at the active ingredients in the face wash first and noticed that Sulfur was the main ingredient.

The Best Treatment For Adult Acne.

    sulfur soap

I hadn't heard of sulfur soap before so I started to do some research and found that people have been using it for quite some time to treat their acne and skin conditions like psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, scabies, and more. Sulfur soap generally has a sulfur concentration of 10% (compared to 3% in Rodan and Fields Unblemish) and is known to dry out the skin a bit. This helps oily people (like myself) who suffer from acne.

I searched Amazon and immediately found a brand with good reviews, so I placed an order. Since I'm a prime member, the shipment came in two days and I started using the soap right away. As I mentioned, this soap has a higher concentration of sulfur than Rodin and Fields Unblemish face wash and I found that it worked extremely well and noticed that my skin looked better within just a few days.

    &

I was so impressed with the soap that I sent a bar to my dad who also suffers from cystic acne, and told a close friend about it who also has some skin conditions. Both of them reported good results using the sulfur soap and are still using it to this day. Just note that the soap does have an odor of sulfur. I don't mind it at all, but my husband has a more sensitive sense of smell and he can definitely tell when I've just washed my face.

    face scrubber

Right around the time that I found sulfur soap, my mom told me that she had been using a Clarisonic as part of her skin care routine. This machine can help deeply clean your skin by removing all traces of makeup or dirt. Unfortunately, the Clarisonic is not exactly budget friendly, so I sought out a cheaper alternative. I found these little silicone scrubbers on Amazon and placed an order. I can't tell you how much I love the scrubbers. They really help remove all traces of makeup for my face and help provide a deep clean with this soap.

    &

So, for well under $10 a month, I have completely changed up my skin care routine and have noticed a big difference in my face. I still love Rodan and Fields Unblemish and continue to use steps two and three as needed (mainly during "that" time of the month). I would certainly order it again, but for a fraction of the cost, I think this is the best treatment for adult acne.

Have you heard of sulfur soap?
What are you using for your acne?

Hi! Do you have acne? If not and your skin isn't particularly oily then this probably isn't the right soap for you. Sulfur soap can definitely be a bit drying.

Been getting lots of acne since giving bitrh... 🙁 Do you just use the sulfur soap to wash your face? Or do you still need to use other facial cleanser after that? Can you share the routine please?? Thanks!!

My husband who is from Mexico brought me home a sulfur skin ointment when I was suffering from acne after stopping bc too. It is awesome. I use that and an amazing facial detox cleanser w black charcoal and herbs. no more issues.

Thank you for your post about sulfur soap!! I came across your blog at just the right time. My adult acne has been horrible for years now and it was getting to the point where I dreaded seeing people I know because it was just embarrassing. I decided to give the sulfur soap a try with my Clarasonic, I have literally tried just about everything else. Well I was shocked to find that with in a few days my skin was crystal clear. It has been that way for a month and a half now. I have even gone out in public WITHOUT ANY MAKEUP on for the first time in my adult life. I have noticed if I skip one face wash and use anything other than the sulfur soap I break out right away, but as soon as I use the soap again it clears right up. This stuff is amazing and super cheap. I am so thankful I came across your blog. I just wish I had known about it years ago.

Hi There, I can't wait to try this, I have the same cystic/acne prone skine! R&F unblemish has worked well for me but the price tag has not been worth it. May I ask how often you use this soap? Every morning / evening? & what moisturizer do you prefer? Thank you & love all the positive comments above.

I'm so sorry I missed this comment! I use the soap every morning and night. I use a light moisturizer, like NOW's Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer AM: https://amzn.to/2TYJO2H

Just ordered a bar and two scrubbies, yay! I love the combination of Unblemish and Soothe for my lovely combination of not only acne, but also rosacea. However, this is MUCH more budget friendly, thank you!!!
