    Babyganics Review

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

With the overwhelming number of baby products on the market it can be hard to decide what's best to use on your little ones. I've teamed up with Babyganics to share some information about their plant-based personal care items that are designed to be non-toxic and safe for everyone.

    babyganics review

I've purchased a few Babyganics items in the past (the alcohol-free hand sanitizer and conditioning shampoo and body wash), which I really liked, so when I had the opportunity to try more of their products I was really excited! They generously sent me a large package and we tore into it like it was Christmas.

    Babyganics Laundry Products

The first products I tried (as we have a never-ending pile of laundry in my four-person household) were the fragrance-free laundry detergent, stain eraser, and lavender-scented dryer sheets.

    babyganics

We have tried out various brands of laundry detergent over the past few years. Our three-year-old daughter has very sensitive skin, which we discovered when she was an infant, and we're also continuously trying to reduce the amount of chemicals in our home. All of the ingredients are listed on the website and categorized by whether they're natural, plant-based, or synthetic. There's also a "baby safe details" section on each product-for the detergent it mentions that there are no optical brighteners, chlorine, phthalates, phosphates, artificial fragrances or dyes. The loads that I washed came out clean despite all of the baby food and dirt! I also love that it can be used with traditional or HE machines and you can use the detergent to pre-treat by rubbing it into tougher messes and letting it soak before washing.

I did spot-treat some of the laundry with the stain eraser before washing. I get so annoyed when I wash baby clothes and accidentally set in baby food or spit up, especially because baby clothes aren't cheap! The stain eraser is easy to use-you just press the applicator into the stain and rub it in a circular motion until you've treated the spot. It's a great size for on-the-go also; I plan to carry it in my diaper bag from now on!

    babyganics

I haven't used dryer sheets for years now because of all the chemicals. I was beyond excited to find out that Babyganics dryer sheets contain zero (that's right, ZERO) synthetic ingredients. Instead, they stick with natural and plant-based ingredients that also make the dryer sheets biodegradable, even compostable! Each sheet comes perforated so you can rip the sheet in half, which makes it less likely to block the dryer vent. I have to admit that the one thing I miss about using dryer sheets is that fresh laundry smell-with the lavender scented dryer sheets I have great smelling clothes again! They also offer fragrance-free dryer sheets!

    Babyganics Diapers and Wipes

I have been searching for an affordable and safe diaper since I found out that most diapers contain toxic chemicals and have a huge environmental impact. I seriously considered cloth-diapering but I'll be honest-I'm just not motivated enough to add more to my laundry pile. I tried size three Babyganics diapers for my six-month-old; he's 18.5 pounds and has the juiciest chubby thighs, and they fit great. So far he's worn them for about a week and I'm loving them! He hasn't leaked through a diaper yet, even overnight. He's only had one blow-out, but that's because he pooped in the car and it shot right up his back (the joys of breastfed babies!)-I certainly don't blame the diaper for that one. They're pretty flexible and he definitely puts them to the test as he's recently learned to crawl and pulls himself up on everything.

    babyganics

The diapers are chlorine-free and they also contain Babyganics 100% natural Neo-Nourish® seed oil blend. I wasn't sure how I'd like the diapers because we've been purchasing the same brand for the past three years, but I'm switching to Babyganics now that we've tried them and I've done some research on the chemicals found in other diapers.

    babyganics

I don't know about you, but I use baby wipes for absolutely everything. From poopy diapers to wiping faces after meals to cleaning dirty hands at the park, I use them ALL. THE. TIME. I've told my husband that I'll probably just carry a pack of wipes in my purse long after our kids are out of diapers because they're just that handy. That being said, I've been ignoring the little voice in the back of my head suggesting that conventional wipes might not be the safest thing to use on little faces and toys that go in tiny mouths. Once again Babyganics has impressed me with their ingredient list for their face, hand & baby wipes that don't contain any alcohol, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial dyes or fragrances. I finally feel completely comfortable wiping my kids' faces and hands (and butts!) with disposable wipes. They also seem to moisturize rather than dehydrate, which is great for winter when my whole family suffers from dry skin.

    Babyganics Skin Care Products

We live in Minnesota and in the summer especially we deal with so many bugs, particularly mosquitoes. Mosquito bites are bad enough as they are, but my daughter seems to have an allergic reaction to them and gets huge welts that last for almost two weeks every time she gets bit. I've always tried to avoid insect repellents that contain DEET, because even though it's claimed to be safe, there are limits as to what's safe for kids, which include not applying more than once a day and not applying to their hands or faces.

    babyganics

Babyganics insect repellent only contains natural ingredients (all listed on the site) and are made up of oils that repel mosquitoes, gnats, and flies. We really put this product to the test at my parents' rural home-half of their land is woods and we spend almost the whole weekend outdoors over the Independence Day weekend.

For the insect repellent a little bit goes a long way-it's slightly oily but it doesn't stay oily-feeling after you rub it in. It's got a fairly strong scent (I could really smell the citronella oil) but it wasn't unpleasant and dissipated outside quickly. I didn't end up with any bites and I only applied it once! Our daughter got just a couple mosquito bites but I'll admit that I wasn't on top of reapplying like I probably should have for the amount of time we were outside. Neither of us had an issue with the flies either, though almost everyone else was complaining about them throughout the weekend. I'm really happy to find an insect repellent that is made of natural ingredients and works so well! They offer two different bottle sizes-the six ounce bottle was great to have with us for the long weekend and the two ounce bottle is going to be a staple in my diaper bag for play-dates at the park.

    babyganics

We also were able to try the Babyganics Eczema Care Skin Protectant Cream and the Moisturizing Daily Lotion. Our kiddos have been lucky to not have many skin issues so far, but our six-month-old son did recently get a dry patch along his diaper line that had me wondering if he had a bit of eczema. I tried to use coconut oil and almond oil on it each diaper change but it wasn't going away. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try the eczema cream when we got it, and it cleared up after just a couple diaper changes! I was really impressed. The cream contains the Neo-Nourish® seed oil blend as well as colloidal oatmeal that acts as a skin protectant and helps relieve itching. It does NOT contain any steroids or cortisone unlike many of the eczema creams on the market today. Babyganics offers the eczema cream in three to eight ounce bottles so you can have some on hand at home and some for the diaper bag.

    babyganics

Lastly, we got to try Babyganics fragrance-free Moisturizing Daily Lotion. I used to apply lotion multiple times a day but when I realized my asthma was being triggered by the fragrances I stopped almost immediately. I've tried a few fragrance-free lotions and have found some that I like, but many still contain phthalates and sulfates. I love that I can use Babyganics lotion without any breathing issues and that it's safe to use on my kids also. It's non-allergenic and contains shea butter, olive oil, and avocado oil. My daughter loves that she can use the same lotion I do, and I love that when I turn the pump to the side it locks so she doesn't use too much 😉

Overall I am loving these Babyganics products and am looking forward to trying more. My favorite items so far are the diapers and wipes, though I've liked everything I've tried. I appreciate that they're affordable, eco-friendly, and safe to use on and around our kids.

BUY IT: You can buy these and many other Babyganics products from their Amazon, Target, and various other retailers.

Disclaimer: I (Amber) received these Babyganics products free of charge to facilitate an honest review. All opinions are my own.

My daughter has such sensitive skin and eczema so we have to be very careful about the products we use- especially the ones we put on her skin. I love that this line is so safe and free of harmful ingredients! We would love to try the vapor bubble bath so she could have her first bubble bath! We've been looking for a bubble bath for her for so long, but most soaps that create bubbles have ingredients she just can't tolerate. I'm so happy to find this!
