I originally saw a super adorable baby footprint reindeer piece of art on Pinterest over 2 years ago. In fact, I think I had just found out I was pregnant and thought, "Someday, I will do that adorable Christmas craft!" Of course, I didn't... Until NOW!
As an HP brand ambassador in their #HPFamilyTime campaign, I was recently sent an HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer and I've been brainstorming different ways my little guy and I could put it to use. I wanted to do a super fun activity with him and that's when I remembered my long forgotten craft idea and took to my new HP ENVY 17 Special Edition Leap motion Notebook to start creating. I wanted to transform the idea from that original canvas into a special Christmas card for my husband. I used a simple, free online program to create the text for the card and used Google Docs to create a template. You can get this FREE template right here.
The HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer is ideal for lab-quality photos and laser-sharp everyday documents and you can wirelessly print from your computer, tablet, and even your smartphone. The set-up process could not be simpler and printing from my new PC was a breeze. You can see that the printer did an awesome job on this task.
Once I had my blank card, I took out our finger paints and got prepared to craft! Ideally, you'd have brown paint for this reindeer craft, but I didn't have any on hand, so I mixed up a little concoction from all of these colors and made my own shade of brown. I then spread a thin coating on my little guy's feet while he was sitting in my lap (one foot at a time). Surprisingly, my 17 month old was pretty calm during the process and we got great footprints!
Once you have your footprints, you'll just need a few more supplies to finish creating your reindeer. Namely, you'll need either white paint for the eyes, or white paper cut-outs and glue (pictured above) and some markers for creating the antlers, pupils, and noses.
So, what do you think?

That is a super cute holiday card. I'm always partial to the ones with hand/footprints because they show so much between the years.
