Original Artwork from Society6 Review!

Sure, I think I could consider myself an artist. Much of what I create is made of fabric and thread, and seeing the Prom dresses and bridesmaids gowns I've sewn on women around the country is purely rewards and feelings of accomplishment. Being able to see his/her work go out into the world, onto people's walls, and into their homes, is probably what keeps an artist creating and inspired! Since I can really appreciate original art and the feeling of joy in seeing it sold, I am a huge advocate for this business called Society6, where artists can sell their artwork as gallery quality art prints. Society6 features the artwork of thousands of artists from around the world!

Artists post their artwork and Society6 sells it, produces it, packages and ships it, so that the creators can focus their time on make more of what they do best! Here is a salt grain sample of what you could find:

But they've gone a step further. Beyond gallery prints, you can find these artists' creations in all sorts of mediums like iPhone cases, t-shirts, tote bags, wall clocks, hoodies, and even rugs! If you fall in love with a print or a certain artist, you can really adorn your home with pieces that speak to you.

With an upcoming move in our wake, I've been looking for ways to quickly personalize our new white space that we'll be moving into soon. Society6 so generously offered me one of their shower curtains at no cost to facilitate this review. I poured over their pages and pages of home decor, falling in love with SO many of their prints, but I really fell for this print called The Button Collection, by Cassia Beck.

I LOVE this print!! It is just so ME! Slightly vintage, soft colors, simple but unique, and covered in sewing notions. In the Society6 catalog, you are able to search by artist to see other works of art that are similar to what you're looking at, and after this curtain was already on its way to me, I realized that I've ordered from this artist in the past! My laptop skin is also from this artist, Cassia Beck. I must really gravitate towards a certain style--hers!

Back to the curtain: this is first cloth shower curtain I've owned, and I'm really a fan. I've previously owned only plastic-like stiff and crunchy curtains, so this 100% polyester curtain is a breathe of fresh air. First of all, this can be machine washed and dried! One of my biggest qualms about my previous shower curtains is how they perma-hold their creases from packaging. I feel like the folds never really smoothed out, and there wasn't a way to iron them. This 100% polyester material is a different story. I could iron it, steam it, or just throw it in the dryer to get an instantly smooth surface so that I can really pay attention to the artwork.

There are twelve button-holes at the top that should fin any standard hooks. The finished dimensions are 71" by 74". My poor excuse of a bathroom is so small that I couldn't get the whole opened curtain in one picture! I can't wait to add green glass accessories and soaps in these creamy ocean colors.

From close up, the images aren't extremely crisp, but take into account that a photograph of a button measuring ½" has been blown up to almost a foot tall. Take a step back, and these images look completely crisp and vibrant.
