    easy breakfast ideas for kids

Can you believe that it's time to go back to school already? It feels like we just started our summer but now we're already gearing up for the new school year. It's time to stock up on all the essentials, and I'm not just talking about uniforms and school supplies. Now is the perfect time to pick up food, personal care, and home products that you're going to need for back to school. Luckily, the is running at Publix until 8/13/21 and you can save big on the items you and your children will need. Today, I wanted to share some quick and easy breakfast ideas for kids that will save you time (and sanity!) on busy school days. Plus, you can save on most of these items during this awesome promo at Publix!

    breakfast for kids

When I brainstorm breakfast ideas for kids, I tend to think about things that kids can prepare themselves. My daughter is 6-years-old and my son is 9-years-old and I feel like they've become so much more self-sufficient in the past year alone. My son can now safely operate the toaster and he loves to show off his independence by making himself and his sister simple meals in the morning. I love this since it lightens my load in the morning and I can focus on other things, like packing lunches and backpacks.

    easy breakfasts for kids

With the Back to School promo at Publix, I was able to grab quite a few things for easy breakfasts for kids and my kids were just as thrilled with what I brought home. Here are a few ideas to help you get started for the school year.

    kind's hawaiian bread

My kids LOVE King's Hawaiian rolls, so I figured they'd also enjoy King's Hawaiian Sliced Hawaiian Sweet Bread and I was right. This bread smells amazing and tastes even better. My son was able to pop a few pieces in the toaster and spread some butter on it (but they could also choose jam or peanut butter) for him and his sister. I also encouraged them to grab a piece of fruit while he poured them each a glass of Organic Valley Milk to go with it.

    toast for kids

I always try to buy organic milk when I can. I love Organic Valley since it's always free of antibiotics, hormones, toxic pesticides, and GMOs. My kids also really enjoy the taste so it's a win-win. During the Back to School promotion, you can get King’s Hawaiian Sliced Bread (or Mini Sub Rolls 12–13.5-oz, your choice) for 2 for $5. You'll also get Organic Valley Milk for $1.50 OFF any 2 half-gallons cartons (excludes grassmilk).

    kid making waffles

Another super easy breakfast that my kids get excited about is waffles. I've offered to make them homemade waffles on countless occasions, but they really prefer Eggo Waffles. I can't blame them; I loved them when I was a kid too. I try to keep Eggo Waffles on hand at all times and I was thrilled to see that you can get the 24-package of your choice for only $4.99 during the Back to School promotion at Publix.

    Fage yogurt

Another easy breakfast idea for kids is yogurt. My kids have recently started eating Greek yogurt and I'm thrilled about it. Fage Yogurt has been my favorite for years so I'm glad to be able to share it with them. Their black cherry yogurt is my favorite, but my daughter loves the strawberry and vanilla flavors.

To make this breakfast a little more complete, I like to pre-slice berries and have them waiting for them in the morning. I also put out some granola, honey, and any other mix-ins they might enjoy. That way, they have the autonomy of choosing their yogurt and mix-ins.

    breakfast for kids

Definitely stock up on Fage Yogurt during the Back to School promotion at Publix. You'll be able to buy 10 5.3 to 5.7-ounce cups of your choice for only $10.

    lala yogurt smoothie

My kids' other favorite way to enjoy yogurt is in the form of a smoothie. Lala Yogurt Smoothies are delicious and so convenient to grab and go. If my kids don't have them for breakfast, I'll often pack them in their lunchboxes. During the Back to School promo, you can get $1.50 off any one 4-pack with the manufacturer's digital coupon.

    carnation breakfast shake

Last, but certainly not least, I stocked up on Carnation Breakfast Essentials shakes. My kids can't get enough of these shakes. We bought the chocolate and vanilla flavors and they're packed with 10 grams of protein plus 21 essential vitamins & minerals. They’re the ultimate convenience! Until 8/13, you can get $4 off any 2 Carnation Breakfast Essentials Items.

Are you ready to stock up on easy breakfasts for kids for back to school? Visit or head to your local store to grab the in-store 7/31 Extra Savings flyer to see a complete list of product savings included in the Back to School promotion. If you don't see the Extra Savings flyer in the kiosk by the store’s entrance, ask customer service for a flyer. You can also look for at-shelf signs located throughout the store which highlight the savings during the promotion.

What are your go-to breakfasts during the school year?
    I'd love to hear them!
