Why Every Child Needs a Pair of pediped Kids' Shoes

This post may contain affiliate links. Click here for more information.

It's no secret that kids' feet grow WAY too fast. This summer alone my son's feet grew from a size six to eight and a half! It's also no secret that we love pediped shoes and I think every child should own at least one pair. I've partnered with pediped to share why with you, plus you'll have the chance to win a pair of pediped kids' shoes!

    pediped Kids' Shoes

I first heard about pediped footwear last summer, and I have loved their shoes for my kids ever since. My daughter has been wearing them since last June and my son has been wearing them since before he started walking! I really think they have some of the best shoes for kids on the market today.

    pediped kids' shoes

What Sets These Shoes Apart from Others?

You may be wondering what sets pediped kids' shoes apart from other brands. One of the first things that comes to mind is that they're approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association because they promote healthy foot development. Before having kids I didn't realize how important good shoes were for the development of healthy feet and bodies. If you think about it, feet (literally) support our entire bodies so it's logical that they need to be supported by our shoes. This is especially important for kids whose bodies are constantly growing and changing.

    pediped kids' shoes

pediped shoes are extremely flexible, unlike many other brands of kids' shoes. As they say, they're "the next best thing to bare feet", which I firmly believe is true. My kids are able to bend their feet just like they would without shoes on, which is so important. Our son is sporting the pediped Flex® Gehrig shoes in Navy/Cherry.

    pediped kids' shoes

    Various Stages of Foot Development

Another thing that sets pediped apart are their three styles for each stage of foot development. They carry Originals® which are ideal for infants and children learning to walk, Grip 'n' Go® which are for active toddlers, and Flex® for confident walkers up to youth size six. Both of my kids are in the Flex stage now, but I've loved all three stages as they have grown.

    pediped kids' shoes

The Flex Gehrig style is made of a microfiber suede with mesh lining which is great for sweaty little feet. As with most pediped kids' shoes, they come in various colors for both girls and boys. I love the variety of color options that pediped carries, and that they update their lines in the spring and fall. They have many new arrivals on their site right now!

    pediped kids' shoes

I love that the Flex Gehrig Navy/Cherry match so many of my son's clothes. It makes my life easier when I don't have to coordinate his shoes with his clothes every day. They've got a double Velcro closure which he is learning to use by himself. I prefer Velcro closures over shoelaces, especially for toddlers!

    pediped kids' shoes

He's definitely comfortable in them as he runs around chasing his big sister on the playground. He HAS to do everything she does!

    pediped kids shoes

Our daughter is currently wearing pediped's Flex Force in Silver/Navy. This is her second pair of athletic Flex shoes and she loves them. Her first requirement is that all of her shoes must have pink on them, because pink is her "favorite color in the whole wide world". Easily done! As I mentioned before, pediped has tons of color options!

    pediped kids' shoes

Flex in Silver and Navy are great because they match so many of her outfits. I love a good pair of athletic shoes for the fall when my kids are outside running around. These are a little different from the Flex Gehrig style because they have a Clarino upper and neoprene lining. They're water-safe, meaning kids can run through puddles and the quick-dry EVA footbeds will help them dry fast!

    pediped kids' shoes

    Flex Shoes are Machine Washable

Both the Flex Gehrig and Flex Force styles are machine washable, which is a HUGE bonus for me. Our kids get down and dirty, and I just take the insoles out and toss them in the washing machine! They air dry and look brand new again.

    pediped kids' shoes

    Eco-Friendly and Vegan Options

Many of pediped's shoes are vegan and they strive for eco-friendly practices while producing their shoes as well. Some of their footwear, including the Flex Force style, use materials without solvents which results in reduced carbon dioxide emission and less use of water and energy.

    pediped kids' shoes

    pediped's Flex Fit System™

We've reached my favorite feature of pediped footwear! This is something I haven't seen in other kids' shoes and is one of the things that makes pediped stand out from the crowd. Their Flex Fit System (which is used in all of their closed-toe shoes) includes a pair of 2 millimeter insoles with each shoe purchase.

These insoles reduce the fit of the shoe by almost half a shoe size! When I choose pediped shoes for my kids, I size up and use the insoles to reduce the shoe size until they need more room. Then I simply take out the insoles to extend the life of the shoe until they outgrow them! The Flex Fit System increases the life of my kids' shoes significantly and I appreciate this 'above and beyond' feature.

    pediped kids' shoes

pediped kids' shoes have so many positive attributes that I really think every child should own at least one pair. There are hundreds of style and color options available on their website and they have something for every child's personality. On top of athletic shoes, they have sandals, dress shoes, casual footwear, and school styles available. Check out their fall line for some fun new options!

Our friends at pediped are generously giving one of our lucky readers a pair of kids' shoes! The winner will pick size and whether they're for a boy or girl. Enter using the Giveaway Tools form below, and good luck!

Thanks for the thorough review of Pediped shoes! We are big fans of this bran because the shoes are made with high quality materials, yet are still very lightweight. We also appreciate that they are stylish and have Velcro closures. The pair that caught the little one's eye is the Flex Leah Berry.

I really like the Originals Jake in grey/blue for my 10 mo. old LO who is about to begin walking. We jokingly say he has Fred Flintstone feet because they are so big, wide, & chubby. All the shoes at Target are not wide enoug to fit him, so I would be interested in seeing if the Pedipeds will fit. I'm glad to see they are available about 30 minutes away at a Stride Rite store.

I LOVE the Flex Dani Earth shoes for my son! They look perfect for wearing with school outfits and keeping him comfortable while being the super active boy he is! I LOVE the flex fit feature! My son is just barely growing out of size 8'shoes but 9's are still way too big! The flex fit feature would be perfect for this scenario!
