Our oldest boy turned 5 this month and up until now, we've kept our parties small and simple, but this year we decided to go big with a Superhero-themed party! We'd been talking about ideas and games for weeks, and decided that we really needed some super gear for all the guests if we were going to do this right! Just the idea of sewing capes for all of the kids was making me sick as I thought about where on earth I would find the time, so I immediately started hunting down the best superhero capes and came across Everfan, who not only makes personalized and custom designs, but they also offer bulk orders and most importantly to me: party packs! The Party Packs come as a set of 10 and you can choose your own colors among the 12 choices. They have every color you see here, plus a silver and gold, so there are lots of great options for boys and girls.
The capes are made from 100% polyester satin and have a wide velcro collar. These Youth capes are for ages 3-10 and measure 24" from the back of the neck. Adult capes are also available and measure 34". Because they are a delicate synthetic, make sure you don't use a hot iron to get the wrinkles out! I threw these in the dryer with a damp towel before the party and they came out pretty smooth.
We had everything set out for our guests, and oh what glee could be heard when they arrived and each child picked out a cape, mask, and matching armbands!
The first attraction at the party was a backdrop and a trampoline! There was SO much excitement over getting to dress up and be SUPER!
I love how each kid felt special and just super happy to be there!
Another highlight from the party was a Superhero Obstacle Course, where the kids followed a path with tasks to complete. The parents commented on how the lightweight fabric of the capes allowed them to ripple beautifully behind the kids! If the capes had been made of a thicker fabric, they might not flow and fly so dramatically. The masks felt perhaps just a little too tight on the larger heads, but stayed secure on everyone ages 2 on up. The armbands are made with elastic on the underside so they are comfortable for all sorts of wrist sizes to get on and off and wear all day.
What was even more fun was seeing our neighborhood friends wearing the capes for days and days after the party! I've seen our friends in their capes at the park and one mom told me that she went in to check on her girls and both of them were asleep wearing their capes and masks!
I'll say that these superhero accessories were a HUGE success! They really made the party exciting for all the kids, and I loved being able to send everyone home with something fun to wear and pretend with for days and days after the party.
