As a Step2 Ambassador I was able to get a sneak peek at the brand new products for Spring 2014. They have some amazing toys this season, including the Alpine Ridge Climber, The Home Depot Sizzle and Smoke Grill, and the Great Outdoor Playhouse, but when I laid eyes on the Sit & Play Picnic Table with Umbrella, I knew that was the item for us. We didn't have anywhere for our little guy to sit and eat or play, so we were really happy to receive this picnic table for him.
The Step2 Sit & Play Picnic Table with Umbrella arrived nicely packaged in a smaller box than I expected. I was super excited to see that "Quick & Easy Assembly" was listed on the front. I was going to be tackling the assembly myself, so I was relieved to see tools wouldn't be necessary.

When I took the picnic table out of the box I was really impressed to see how compact it was and how the interlocking pieces held the unit together for flat storage. This will be perfect for storing the table when not in use.

The Sit & Play Picnic Table comes with a 42” (106.7cm) square umbrella to provide a bit of shade for your little one when they're playing outside. The umbrella is really easy to put together and slide through the center of the table.
This table is super durable, which is perfect for the recommended age group of 1.5-4 year olds. My little guy likes to climb all over this table and it's holding up well. You can see in the photos below that he seems very comfortable sitting at the table. He's currently 21 months old and 34 inches tall and he can easily sit down and stand up from the table himself.
This table is fairly lightweight and you can transition from outdoor use to indoor use very easily. When turned sideways, the table fits through most doorways so you won't need to disassemble the table often (even though it's a cinch!). Since the Sit and Play Picnic Table is made of plastic it's also really easy to clean. I've just been wiping it down with a damp cloth or disposable wipe after mealtime and playtime.
Overall, we're very pleased with the Step2 Sit and Play Picnic Table with Umbrella! I'd definitely recommend this table to anyone looking for a great play space or eating surface for their toddler or small child.

Since we got rid of our pool, we filled up the space with sand & our grandkids always want to sit in there to eat instead of the blankets or chairs we take out for them to use. I love Step2 and all of your products. My daughter has the dream kitchen and absolutely loves it. I think this pinic table is perfect, I love that it is portable and can be used indoor/outdoors. My kids are always doing their art projects and things on the kitchen table, this would be perfect for them.
