     online photography course
Before our baby was born, I made a promise to myself that I'd invest in a good camera so I could capture all of the milestone moments in our future. My husband and I did a lot of research and decided to purchase a Canon Rebel T2i DSLR camera. I also bought a few books so that I could learn how to use it, but they were overwhelming to say the least! So, I did what most people would do - I turned the little knob to the green box (auto mode) and went on my way.
Once we found out we were expecting our little wubba, I decided it was finally time to learn how to shoot in manual mode. After all, what is the point of having a fancy, expensive camera if you don't know how to use it!
First, let me show you why it's important to learn how to use your camera.

When you're using your camera in automatic mode, it's basically guessing which settings it should use. Sometimes it guesses right and other times it doesn't. If you're outside on a beautiful day, it's a good possibility that you'll get a decent shot. But, if you're indoors with low lighting, your picture will likely be dark and not the beautiful portrait that you'd envisioned. For example, in the photo on the left, I quickly set my camera to automatic and snapped a shot of my 9 month old son. Even though we're sitting right in front of an open window, the photo turned out dark and slightly blurry. On the right, I changed to automatic mode, adjusted the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed and came away with a photo that I absolutely love. If terms like ISO, aperture and shutter speed are already making you nervous, have no fear, Shot Rockers will break it all down for you! Before the wubba was born I invested $200 in an online photography course. I was given two weeks to access the content, and while it was informative and I learned some basic skills, I wish I had just a few more weeks to really absorb it all. I was also a little disappointed that printed materials weren't readily available. There were a few charts with helpful tips, but nothing comprehensive. Once my two weeks were up, that was it.

    Shot Rockers Online Photography Course

When I was contacted by Shot Rockers to review their "Beginners Guide To Better Photos," I jumped at the opportunity! I couldn't wait to dive into this online photography course.

Shot Rockers was created by Tony, a professional photographer, and a group of his friends because they want you to learn how to "Rock the shot!"  Shot Rockers is a photo education website focused on helping you get the best photos out of your camera. Tony's been teaching group photography courses for several years, and knows what you're looking for - a quality online photography class that's informative, easy to understand and affordable.

Shot Rockers knows that there is a ton of information about photography out there, but it's overwhelming and discouraging for beginners when they can't easily understand the material. That's why they've created "Beginners Guide To Better Photos," a month long course designed to help you understand the basics of digital SLR photography. The course is divided up into 10-15 minute video tutorials so you can easily fit them into your busy schedule. You don't have to spend hours in front of the computer, trying to cram the information in. Shot Rockers really breaks it down for you into easy to follow, short lessons.

Each video addresses a specific topic about beginning photography. You'll learn about photography equipment, the elements of exposure, how to get a sharp photo, how to get correct color for your photos, and so much more! There are also more "hands on" lessons (well, as hands on as you can be on the internet) where Shot Rockers virtually takes you out and shows you how to take certain types of photographs, such as landscape, portrait, commercial and travel photos. Tony is a wonderful instructor and really tailors each tutorial for beginners. At the end of each lesson, give yourself a little time to practice what you just learned. Once you take the time to apply the material you're going to see huge improvements in your photos!

I love the daily videos, but my absolute favorite thing about the Shot Rockers course is that there are detailed notes available for you to print out with each lesson! I think other online classes fear that you'll share the information with those who haven't paid for the course and that's why they limit access and printed material, but as a student it's SO helpful to have printed notes that you can take with you for future reference.

I'm so happy with the experience I've had so far with Shot Rockers! I'm learning so much about my camera and how to use it to get the great shots that I've been wanting. I would definitely recommend Shot Rockers to anyone who wants to get the most out of their DSLR camera.

Shot Rockers is so awesome that they're offering a 50% discount on their online photography course!  Just use THIS LINK to sign up at 50% off!

Hello, I watched the intro video of the Beginner class and what I liked is that Tony Murray just seams like a real down to earth likable fellow who seems like he will break it down so that learning from him could be easy. Thanks for a great giveaway!
