My son is obsessed with Mickey Mouse. He's totally smitten with that lovable mouse. So, it probably won't surprise you that when Oxygenics reached out me about reviewing their brand new licensed Disney shower heads, I jumped at the opportunity. I just imagined the look on my son's face when he saw the shower head and replied with a big YES right away. I'm giving you a complete look at this Mickey Mouse Shower Head. Oh, and they also have a Minnie Mouse Shower Head.
Mickey Mouse Shower Head

They even have a "Never Clog" guarantee, which is like a dream in Florida with our hard water that's notorious for leaving behind mineral deposits. Oxygenics has been making shower heads, and only shower heads, for over 30 years, and has really perfected their craft, so I couldn't wait to receive the adorable Mickey Mouse Combo Shower Head for my Wubba.
I'm not super handy when it comes to household maintenance, so I normally ask my darling husband to do things like install shower fixtures. Unfortunately, he was just so slammed at work that I decided I needed to just install this baby myself. When I unboxed it, I was relieved to see that there weren't many pieces the system at all. Maybe their claim of "installs in minutes" and without any tools would be true and I could actually do it myself.
Installation really was a breeze (thank you Oxygenics!). The directions were really easy to follow and I had the shower head installed in about 10 minutes. I think the hardest part was removing my old shower head, and I did need a wrench for that part.
As you can see, there are two shower heads with this set (hence the word combo) that you can use individually or together with the included 3-way diverter. There are a total of 15 spray combinations with Oxygenics pressure-boosting technology and there is a comfort control level so you can easily adjust the water pressure if your little one is a sensitive bather. To adjust the shower spray, you simply tilt Mickey's head left or right. You can have a combination of different sprays when you're using the two heads, or you can use the diverter dial (shown below) to use only one of the heads if you prefer.
My little guy LOVES the fact that he can hold the handheld shower head himself and he wasted no time at all spraying himself and everything in the vicinity. He totally had a blast! There's a great rubber grip on the handle of the shower head so it won't slip out of his hands and the hose length is 72" long so he's got room to move around. I love the fact that I can use the handheld head to rinse the shampoo from his hair. This is so much better than the "use a Tupperware bowl to dump water on his head" method we were using. There's a yellow lever on the handheld showerhead that you can flip up or down to turn the water flow on and off for easy rinsing.
Another great thing about the Mickey Mouse Combo Shower Head is that even though it's for kids, it's designed with adults in mind thanks to it being WaterSense certified - saving you money on water and energy costs. This does mean the water pressure feels a little bit lower at first, but once you get used to it you won't really notice. The Oxygenics Mickey Mouse Combo Shower Head is also composed of non-stick internal parts to prevent clogging or corrosion so it will work year properly year after year.
Overall, this combo shower head is a big hit in our household. It works great and our toddler is excited to take showers and baths. He lovingly calls for "Mickey" at the end of the day as part of our bedtime routine. It's really endearing how much he loves that mouse. I'm so happy we had the opportunity to review this shower head and I'm definitely a fan of Oxygenics.
