Joovy Caboose VaryLight Tandem Double Stroller Review

    Joovy Caboose VaryLight

I have to admit, I was a little nervous about going from the world of single strollers to doubles. The extra bulk and weight, the crazy folding, removing the seats to store it compactly - it was all too much! Luckily, Joovy sent me a Caboose VaryLight (at no cost to facilitate a review) and it's made me feel so much better about transitioning to a double stroller. This tandem double stroller does it all! Whether you have one child or two, the Caboose VaryLight will work for you. Thanks to it's super innovative telescoping frame, the Caboose VaryLight transforms from a compact single stroller to a full size double stroller in mere seconds. I'm totally impressed with all of the features of this stroller and created a full video review to demonstrate all of it's fantastic options for you below. Be sure to check it out!

Here's some information from Joovy about the Caboose VaryLight:

Joovy understands that as families grow their strolling needs change, even on a daily basis. The concept behind the VaryLight is the term variable – an adjective that describes changeability. There has never been a tandem stroller that expands and contracts the way the VaryLight does to meet your family needs. With various riding configurations, it’s like having several strollers in one!

The Caboose VaryLight includes a unique telescopic frame that expands the stroller from a single to a full-size double in seconds. In it’s compact position (43.5 inches long), the Caboose VaryLight can be used as a standard single stroller or with a newborn in an infant car seat. In this compact mode, there is still enough room for an older child to stand on the rear platform.

When strolling with two children, the frame extends to provide more room for your older child to sit on the rear bench seat – even when the front seat is fully reclined. The older child also has the option of standing on the built-in platform. We know that older children love this feature as it allows them to easily hop on or off. The stroller measures 49.75 inches long in extended position.

    Features:

    • Swing-away tray that can be attached in either front or back to hold snacks and drinks.
    • Oversized canopy with sun visor extension provides extra protection
    • Car seat adapters (sold separately) install on the front or back of stroller (frame can accommodate 2 car seats)
    • 3-position recline front seat with 5 point safety harness.
    • Rear bench seat (with 3 point harness) and standing platform for older child.
    • One-hand standing fold (can fold in single or extended position).
    • Front-wheel suspension, front swivel-wheel locks, and rear brakes.
    • Extra-large storage basket.

Check out my full video review of the Joovy Caboose VaryLight:

Buy it: You can purchase the Joovy Caboose VaryLight directly from Joovy or at other major retailers. UPDATE: The Joovy Caboose VaryLight has been discontinued, but check out the Caboose Ultralight Graphite - it's similar, improved AND less money!

This is exactly what I need. I love that it's light weight and durable. With a one year old and being four months pregnant I am in the market for a double stroller.

Such a great looking stroller. This would make it so much easier than to lug two strollers around. Plus then I can take a stroll whenever I wanted and didn't have to wait for someone else to push the other one.

I don't need this yet, but this looks perfect for when our second baby comes along.
