    How To Store Opened Wine

After a long day, I love nothing more than to curl up, watch a show, and enjoy a good glass of wine. The problem with that is after one glass of wine, I know that if I try to save it for another day, it won't have the same delicious flavor. Due to oxidation, wine starts to lose flavor and quality once you remove the cork. I've partnered with zzysh® to share how to store opened wine and preserve them to enjoy later.

    How To Store Opened Wine

    1. Put the cork back in. Use the wet end of the cork since you don't know what the other end has been exposed to. Don't leave the bottle open and exposed to oxygen and contaminants.
    2. Pour wine into a smaller container. The less oxygen the wine is exposed to, the better. If you pour your wine into a smaller container and close it up, it will still experience oxidation but not nearly as much.
    3. Keep wine in the refrigerator or a cool, dark place. While it won't stop oxidation, refrigeration will slow the process so it doesn't lose flavor as quickly. Keep the bottle away from heat and light.
    4. Use zzysh®. If you do this, you can skip all three of the above options. By replacing the oxygen in the bottle with argon gas for wine or argon gas and carbon dioxide for sparkling wine, your wine won't oxidize and it'll last for weeks (yes, you read that right!) even after opening. Read on below to learn how you can do this simply with zzysh®.

    Preserving Wine with zzysh®

I'm so excited that I've found a product that helps me save my favorite wines to enjoy at a later date. Now I can drink a glass in the evening, seal it up with zzysh®, and drink another glass a couple days or weeks later. Plus, when we entertain we can offer friends various bottles of wine and not worry about them going to waste if they don't get finished.

The concept behind zzysh® is simple; replace the oxygen in an open wine bottle with a protective atmosphere of food safe argon gas that prevents oxidation. All you need to do is close the bottle with the zzysh® stopper and use the hand piece to press down 3-4 seconds which allows the argon gas to fill the bottle. You'll hear a "zzysh" and that's how you know it's working. That's it! Your wine will be fresh and taste like a brand new bottle the next time you choose to open it! It stays fresh for weeks which is just amazing.

If you're more of a bubbly drinker, zzysh® even has a Champagne preserving system. The setup is pretty much the same, but the stopper is just a tad different and the cartridges are filled with food safe argon gas and carbon dioxide. It's SO easy and I'm thrilled that I can enjoy a glass of Champagne or Prosecco without having to worry about wasting the entire bottle. The Champagne cartridges should last for up to 4 bottles of sparkling wines.

Check out my zzysh® demonstration here:

You can purchase a zzysh® Starter Set to help you store opened wine, which includes a hand piece, stopper, and cartridge. One cartridge will preserve up to eight bottles of wine! You can also purchase individual wine stoppers and 5-packs of cartridges from the zzysh® website.

We have a great coupon for our readers who want to try zzysh®! You can save 20% with the code getyourzzysh at checkout!

Using the zzysh is the easier way to keep your wine fresh and tasting great. One step versus the other ways which don't work as well.

This is a neat system! We only drink sparkling grape juice, but even that goes flat pretty quickly. Sounds like they have the market cornered with this product... it definitely seems like it is a useful and needed product!

This is awesome!! Kind of dangerous since I wouldn't have to drink the whole bottle and I would probably have just a glass more often lol!! I typically save my wine drinking for time spent with friends so nothing goes to waste. Boy is this a lifesaver!! Mommy wine nights would happened way more often lol!!

I'm glad to know that I store my wine correctly after I open it. Oddly enough, I enjoy my wine to be cold anyhow.

What a clever idea. I have friends who are wine drinkers and I think this would make a wonderful gift.

This is a good tip for wine lovers. I do not drink wine but I wish there was a way to keep a diet pepsi fresher after you open the 2 liter bottle.

My Dad introduced me to muscadine & peach wine, which is a sweet wine. I always stick the cork back in the open bottle, stick it in the fridge, and then wonder why it doesn't quite taste the same when I open it again weeks later. As you can tell, I don't drink a whole lot. zzysh is a new concept to me, and is one i would definately like to try!

This is a really great idea, I don't drink wine often, but when I do drink it I would like to keep the remaining wine in the bottle tasting good.

This is a great product. I actually waste quite a bit of wine because I only like the occasional glass and it is truly disappointing when it tastes off even after storing in the fridge.

This sounds like a great product! I definitely want to try it, I usually use wine for cooking so it would be awesome to have a way to store it for longer. Also, thanks for all of the other great storing tips! 🙂
