How to Make the Easiest Baby Photo Book Ever.

If you've got a newborn you know how difficult it can be to get things done. Keeping up with a baby record book may just too much for you to handle. Skip the overwhelming and tedious baby record keeping books and opt for a simpler solution. Let me show you how to make the easiest baby photo book ever.

    easiest baby photo book

I've partnered with Mixbook to show you how to create easy baby photo books.

Before my first child was born, I bought a huge spiral-bound book to commemorate my son's first year. I was thrilled when the bulky book arrived and dreamed about all the possibilities to decorate it and told myself that I'd fill in every last prompt. There were hundreds of blank pages and I soon realized that I had just added thousands of little to-do's to my already busy schedule. You can probably guess what happened. I did pretty well documenting all of his firsts until around month six. I got a few days behind, then weeks behind, and before I knew it I was too far behind to catch up. I also never printed any of the photos I took with my fancy DSLR camera or even my phone.

Fast forward to now. My daughter is 19 months old and I didn't even buy a baby book for her. Poor second child! Honestly, I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with another baby book and she had a horrible case of colic, so I figured I'd create a beautiful photo book for her after the fact, and that's exactly what I did thanks to Mixbook.

    easy baby books

How to create an easy baby photo book

One thing most parents are good at is taking lots (and lots) of pictures of their babies. I'm certainly no different and ended up with thousands of photos of my little lady during her first year. Taking photos is something I can commit to. Penciling down every time she tried a new food or changed nap routines is not. That's why I absolutely love the option of creating a baby photo book instead of using a traditional scrapbook style baby book.

    easy baby book

Mixbook has a large selection of baby photo books designs to choose from. I can get overwhelmed by having too many choices, but I knew immediately that the Simple Baby - Pink was the book for us. I loved the modern look of this theme and the color combination of soft pink and dramatic black. I chose a 11" by 8.5" landscape orientation hardcover photo book with a soft touch matte finish. It's beyond beautiful and does exactly what it promises - gives the book a premium feel while reducing glare. The pages inside the book are just as gorgeous. Mixbook uses only the highest-quality, heavy-weight papers that are ethically sourced from sustainable forests. The photos are bright and the colors are vivid.

Actually, I ordered two of these books; one for a keepsake and a shorter version for my little lady to keep in her library. I made a baby photo book to document my first pregnancy with my son and I realized that he LOVED looking at it and hearing his birth story. For months he'd request it as his bedtime story, and I wanted her to be able to have the same experience.

    mixbook layouts

The Mixbook platform is SO easy to use and every aspect of the design is customizable. You can choose different layouts, remove or add their digital stickers to get a scrapbook effect, add or remove text, change fonts and colors - you name it, you can do it with Mixbook. The hardest part for me was deciding which photos I wanted to include. Thankfully, Mixbook allows you to add pages to your book because I just couldn't fit everything into the standard 21 page set up. I ended up with 45 beautiful pages of photographs of my baby girl, and I love every single one.

    baby book layouts

As you can see, the variety of layouts is incredible and the photo quality is great. Speaking of photos, you can upload them from anywhere. No need to hunt down images on different camera cards or from old smart phones. You can upload pictures to Mixbook that you've previously posted on Facebook, Instagram, SmugMug, Dropbox, your computer and more. Plus, you can store them on Mixbook for as long as you want. That's just one more way that Mixbook makes creating a baby book even easier. You can even auto fill the book to save on time.

    easy baby book

I couldn't believe how quickly my book came together once I decided which photos to use. I love the way her baby book turned out and know that we'll treasure this keepsake for years to come. I'd highly recommend skipping the angst of journaling every little thing baby does and keeping it simple with an easy baby book from Mixbook.

This project was so easy and the book turned out so well that I've decided I'm going to start creating a book to document each year. I've already started collecting photos for our 2017 photo book and can't wait to order it at the end of the year.

Thank you to Mixbook for kindly sponsoring this post.
All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.

Wow. I also started a traditional book for my son, then got distracted by life and saved milestones in my head, then got distracted further and began to save milestones in my head... eventually I forgot them all :/ This book is great for so many reasons. Parents could make books per year or per season, books could be made for grandparents or other relatives, books could be made of family members for the baby/child to look at and feel close to relatives. I especially love your idea of a book documenting the pregnancy and arrival of a little one; my son loves to hear about how much we were expecting him and what it was like at that time. Thanks for sharing!

My daughter is a serious scrap book maker and I'm definitely sharing this with her! Of course, I'll share it with my other kids too and my friends. I too tried creating a babybook for my oldest daughter and I was a go-getter in the beginning and then I fizzled out and became overwhelmed!! I wanted to include everything in it!! There is no way that I could do that! I also got frustrated when I'd forgotten something and tried to add a page! I was my own worst enemy!! AND of course, if you made one for one, you have to make one for all of them! Now and then, my grandkids ask me about their moms and how they looked at their age etc. God blessed us with 15 curious grandkids Now at my age, I can't remember everything ? I really appreciate this information. I have a lot of time now. Maybe I'll give it another go at it.

I am so glad I found this giveaway because even if I don't win I will be getting at least one because I had a very difficult pregnancy so I was only able to fill in her baby book when I was not in the ER. I had such high hopes for her baby book because I didn't have one but after she was born she had acid reflux, had to be on special formula due to multiple allergies & she could only hold down a third of her food & up came the rest until she was almost 2. This would make it able for me to make her a baby book that even I the person who can never get any thing to work without my hubby's help. After reading that Mixbook platform is so easy to use, customizable, add or remove texts to digital stickers&you can fonts& colors I plan on making one with my daughter.
