The Best Educational Kids TV Shows. #StreamTeam

I'm a big fan of using multiple tools to teach my kids. The world is becoming more and more technology based every single day, so I think harnessing technology as a learning tool only makes sense. That's why I'm sharing our favorite kids TV shows that you can stream on Netflix that are also fantastic for learning.

I've teamed up with Netflix as a member of the Stream Team.

I've said many times that I think my son has learned a lot (and I mean a LOT) from watching Netflix, so I make sure to give him some tablet time each day. From being able to identify different composers thanks to Little Einsteins to learning fun facts about animals from Octonauts, my toddler surprises me almost daily with the interesting tidbits of knowledge he's gained from watching educational kids tv shows. So, I'm sharing our favorite shows that are great toddlers.

Top educational kids TV shows on Netflix

Word Party - From the Jim Henson Company and Thirty Million Words Initiative, the new Netflix original Word Party follows Kip, Franny, Lulu and Bailey as they learn new words that will help their vocabulary grow. Word Party allows for parents to watch along with their little ones while fostering a fun and easy learning environment for everyone and encouraged to celebrate their Word Party afterwards with the whole gang.

Justin Time Go - A spinoff from the original, "Justin Time" series, "Justin Time Go" is a Netflix original series about a young boy with an imagination takes him throughout the world and history. Along the way, he learns life lessons and has tons of fun with two make-believe friends.

Octonauts - This is one of our favorites from Disney Jr, and I'm so glad we can stream it on Netflix. A team of brave underwater explorers known as the Octonauts combs the world's oceans for aquatic creatures in desperate need of assistance. Each episode focuses on a different animal and your kid will become an aquatic expert.

Super Why - This is a favorite on PBS for a reason. In "Super Why," Wyatt and his pals, the Super Readers, solve problems by consulting classic stories such as Little Miss Muffet, Hansel and Gretel and more. I'm pretty sure that my son learned the alphabet from this song:

Little Einsteins - Leo, June, Quincy and Annie blast off in their versatile ship, Rocket, for unforgettable musical and artistic adventures all over the world. This has always been one of my son's go-to programs sine he was about 2 years old. I think it's helped him appreciate classical music and a little teamwork too.

Sid the Science Kid - Sid's a kid with a lot of questions, and this Emmy-nominated PBS Kids show is all about answering them. When Sid asks a question in school, he and his classmates work together to uncover the answer using science experiments, discussions and songs. As a bonus, your kids can visit PBSkids.org to keep the learning going.

Do you use Netflix as a learning tool?

Love this!! Hubby and I were just talking about what we could get our son to watch more that would help him education wise instead of just being distracting 🙂

I love that they have a superhero one! I also love that it consults old stories.
