    Mint-X Trash Bags Review

    Mint-X

Bugs, raccoons, and rodents are abundant here in Florida... and I mean abundant! Just recently I found some sugar ants in our kitchen so I called the pest control company and they sent out a new technician. He was super thorough and asked if he could take a look in our attic just to cover all the bases. He climbed up in the attic for quite a while and had some bad news when he returned. It appeared that a family of palm rats had finagled their way through our roofline soffit and had made themselves quite a home in our attic. Palm rats are not uncommon here in south Florida, but we were horrified. We ended up having to get most of our air conditioning duct work replaced and all of the insulation in the attic replaced as well. It was a mess! It was almost kismet that Mint-X reached out to me about their trash bags during this whole ordeal and they offered to send me a case of their Tall Kitchen Drawstring Bags at no cost to facilitate a review.

Mint-X bags were created initially to solve the problem of raccoons and rodents eating through trash bags and making a ridiculous mess of garbage in their wake. The creators of Mint-X were fed up with spending their mornings picking up the remains of that night's feast, and they set out to solve the problem. Eventually they created a product that was granted full-registration rights as a repellent product and they're the world's only EPA approved rodent repellent trash bags. Their bags are infused with mix of 4 essential oils: corn mint, camphor, eucalyptus and methyl salicylate to eliminate the foul odors of trash and repel raccoons and rodents at the same time.

Naturally, I was intrigued by these Mint-X bags in hopes that they would help our palm rat problem, not to mention we have a lot of raccoons roaming around our neighborhood. The first thing I was impressed with was the actual mint smell that accompanies the bags. The smell is very strong and very effective and you will notice it immediately. I imagine it would deter animals for quite a large radius considering their sense of smell is usually better than humans. I've been keeping these underneath our sink, and have actually enjoyed the whiff of mint that I get every time I open the cupboard. I'm sure that just storing the bags underneath there is keeping rodents out of the kitchen.

    Mint-X

Mint-X bags are available in multiple sizes and quantities so that you can use these anywhere from your outdoor trash cans to your indoor office. I was talking with a friend in Boston about these bags, and come to find out, her city actually requires them to use Mint-X bags if they do not have trash cans. Perhaps being voted "Product of the Year" in the Home Care Category in 2014 has encouraged some major metropolitan cities to try these out and use them as a weapon to rid the city of infestation issues.

    mint x outside

Mint-X bags also make excellent diaper disposal bags! A week's worth of diapers can be pretty pungent, and keeping the smell at bay, whether you store them in your nursery, garage or backyard until trash day, will make things much more pleasant for everyone. These are such a great option for diaper pail bags because they're readily available and you aren't locked into a system where you have to buy costly refills.

    Mint-X Trash Bags

I'm relieved to know that Mint-X bags are naturally effective because of the high-quality essential oils that they use instead of harmful chemicals. They're much safer for everyone in your household (including your pets). I'm all for decreasing our exposure to dangerous household chemicals when possible, so Mint-X bags are going to be our go-to trash bags from now on.

Mint-X wants to give one of you the chance to try their awesome trash bags too! They're going to send one person a CASE of their Tall Kitchen Drawstring Bags (that's 6 boxes of 50 bags)!

Bait & Snap traps provide an alternative food source to the leftovers in your trash. Mint-X’s powerful scent is more than enough to make the rodents take a detour to the straight into the traps you’ve set. Using the Bait & Snap technique means that you’re tackling the whole problem completely; you’re not just repelling the rodents, you’re getting rid of them permanently.

I knew mint repelled rodents but I didn't know there were actual trash bags that have mint in them. I just spray my bags but this is chemical free, and won't hurt the raccoons that love my trash. I like that they are available at Lowe's where I shop. I intend on making these my go to trash bags. I would not have known about them if you had not posted this great review. Thanks for sharing. My fingers are crossed, I love love to win a chance to try them before I buy.

I would love to try these bags they sound awesome!
