Blue Dragon Sauce and Asian Cuisine Review

“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Blue Dragon Sauce. I received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

If it were up to me, I'd have Chinese or Thai food every other day. I love the variety of the ingredients, the strong flavors of sauces, and how easy and delicious it is to down handfuls of vegetables in these types of dishes. The problem that stands in the way of my enjoying Asian cuisine whenever I choose is the time it takes to make, or the expense it requires to dine out or order takeout. I love to cook from scratch, but I also love the convenience of prepared sauces because they save a lot of time while offering excellent taste to meals I can further customize myself, so imagine how fast I said 'yes' to an opportunity to try out Blue Dragon Sauce and Asian foods.

To say I was pleased when these Blue Dragon products were delivered is an understatement! This week, I've been recovering from having a baby and with my mom in town to help, I really needed to have meals that were decent for my guest, but could still be made quickly. Blue Dragon sauces have been the answer! Delicious Asian inspired meals are totally obtainable from home with these authentic sauces that really take you on a tour of the Far East. Blue Dragon even has an  where you can really tap into authentic recipes and cooking techniques that utilize the Blue Dragon products.

    Blue Dragon Sauce and Cuisine

    blue dragon 1

There are six different Blue Dragon Sauces: Broccoli Beef, Phad Thai, Szechuan Pepper, Chow Mein and General Tao. The first sauce we tried was the General Tao. I was hoping for something spicy to help me go into labor 🙂 but it wasn't as spicy as I'd hoped. It still had great flavor! We noticed that each recipe seemed to call for a large amount of onions, and in the future, we used only half of what the recipe on the back called for, and found it to be a good compromise.

Blue Dragon also sent this wok and cooking utensils so that we could really cook in style, along with these beautiful chopsticks! Every meal we created felt like dining out!

    blue dragon 3

Food prep time is becoming one of the most important deciding factors when it comes down to what I prepare for my family lately. These meals from Blue Dragon (which is named after the Chinese symbol of good fortune) take only minutes, and with recipes on their website and on the back of the sauce pouches, I don't even have to use creative brain power to create something new, but I still can throw in whatever vegetables or meat I have leftover in the fridge. I have the option of going simple, tried and true, or I can get a little creative when I feel like it!

    Blue Dragon Szechuan Sauce

    blue dragon 4

The Szechuan Pepper Stir Fry Sauce meal was pleasantly spicy and probably my favorite! Another great thing about these sauces are that they go well with rice or a variety of noodles. You can mix and match based on what you have on hand. For this recipe, we used the Blue Dragon egg noodles, which are made from a Chinese recipe. I love that they are dried and portioned into single servings so that you can easily cook up the exact amount of noodles for your crew without guessing or measuring.

    blue dragon 5

I love these cute takeout containers! Thanks, Blue Dragon! They make storing leftovers much more fun and cutely portioned. We found that the sauces make a perfect amount of food for two, or even three when you add just a few more veggies to the wok.

    blue dragon 6

Each recipe comes out so colorful and appealing!

    blue dragon chow mein

    Blue Dragon Chow Mein

The Chow Mein was perhaps our least favorite, but only because we felt like it needed a little more flavor. I added the squash for color (and because it needed to be eaten soon) and then we added some garlic and some salt, and then thought it tasted delicious, but perhaps this is really an authentic cuisine and we Americans think everything needs more salt. I liked trying these Soba Noodles! They have a great nutty taste and cook in only 3 minutes. Once the veggies and meat are chopped, each meal has taken under 10 minutes from skillet to table.

    blue dragon 8

I really enjoyed making spring rolls for the first time! The Blue Dragon Spring Roll Wrappers make it really easy since again, I just followed the recipe and directions on the back of the package.

    Blue Dragon Spring Roll Wrappers

    blue dragon 10

They can be eaten fresh or fried, so we tried them both. How fun it was to prepare these with my mom while she was in town! I'll always remember her visit and how we had "takeout night" nearly every evening.

    blue dragon 9

These are SO delicious! The Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce really brings it all together and takes it up from a basic salad mixture to an appetizer. I seriously cannot wait to make these again. It might be in the middle of the night while I'm up with a baby!

    blue dragon 11

We had so much fun making all these delicious dishes from China, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam this week. For more recipe inspiration, visit Blue Dragon and feast your eyes on all of the delicious possibilities

Buy it: You can purchase Blue Dragon products at major grocery stores across the US. Find them at Shaws, Stop & Shop, Market Basket, Whole Foods, and you can also purchase from Amazon.com so you don't have to leave your home!
