Dairy Free Garlic Onion Dip

A killer, dairy-free version of your favorite dip to pair with crispy potato chips.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 large Yellow Onion Finely sliced
  • 1 large Shallot Finely sliced
  • 10 cloves Garlic Finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • 2 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • ¼ cup White Wine (or stock)
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 cup Dairy Free Sour Cream
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder

Instructions

  1. Add olive oil to a large skillet. Heat to medium-low. Add onions, shallot, garlic, balsamic, ½ tsp of salt, and pepper. Cook on LOW for 30 minutes to caramelize onions, garlic, and shallots.

  2. After 30 minutes, add wine (or stock) and Worcestershire sauce and scrape the pan to deglaze your skillet. Cook on low for an additional 20 minutes.

  3. Remove your onion, shallot, and garlic mixture from the heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Then, chop them with a sharp kitchen knife.

  4. In a large bowl, combine y9ur chopped onion mixture with dairy free sour cream, mayonnaise, onion powder, and your remaining salt.

  5. Serve with your favorite chips and enjoy!
