Li'l Helper Review

 Review of the Li'l Helper!

"To be a Super Parent, you don’t need super powers, just a Li’l helper."

Lil' helper was created by Joe Murillo, a life-long creator, after he and his wife found themselves struggling with life's daily chores while feeding their little ones.  The idea for Li'l helper came to him after seeing a clothes hanger and remembering how tightly his daughter would instinctively grip his fingers.  Soon, he had a prototype and continually perfected it until Li'l helper, the baby bottle holder was born!

The Li’l helper bottle holder offers a safe, easy way to help your little ones take a bottle while you are free to multitask. Its ergonomic design matches your baby’s natural nursing posture and Li’l helper’s BPA-free, solid construction holds most bottle sizes.

I was really excited to receive the Li'l helper.  Normally I love holding my little guy and giving him his bottle, but there are times when life gets in the way and I just have to get some thing done.  For those times, having a li'l help would be nice.

I received this green Li'l helper for review:

Here's how the Li'l helper works:  You place the bottle through the circular opening at the top.  There are flanges that will hold the bottle in place.  Then, you place the Li'l helped on the baby's chest.  The angle matches their natural nursing posture and it encourages their natural grasping tendency, helping them learn to hold their bottle.  There's even a rattle feature to keep baby entertained.

The Li'l helper fits most standard sized bottles, is BPA free, and is dishwasher safe.

My little one is 7 months old and wants to be independent but can't quite figure out how to do things for himself just yet.  I supported him with a nursing pillow and then placed the Li'l helper on his chest/abdomen.  Next thing I knew he was grasping the Li'l helper and his bottle!  Usually, when he sees his bottle coming he gets really excited and grabs it and leads it to his mouth. Then, as soon as he gets it there he drops his arms to the side.  He's not the slightest bit interested in holding onto the bottle.  With the Li'l helper he grasped onto it for quite a while.

The curvature of the Li'l helper matches the shape of their chest or belly.  You can see the small rattling balls that are built into the Li'l helper.  This is a great little feature and kept him entertained even when it wasn't feeding time.

The Li'l helper even worked when there was a lot of this going on!

The only issue I've run into with the Li'l helper is that when my little guy moves his head to the side the Li'l helper will slide over to the side as well.  It isn't much of a problem when he's using the nursing pillow or in his car seat because even if it slides to the side it doesn't fall all the way over so he's still able to feed.  When I'm holding him in my lap and using the Li'l helper it isn't much of a problem at all because I can correct it before it slides off.

Overall, I think this is a great product and well worth $14.99!  It's simple, yet innovative and so helpful for us busy moms.  When you have to get something done and need to be hands free or you're in the car and your baby is crying out for a bottle, this is a huge help.  The Li'l helper would be a fantastic baby shower gift and is a must have for moms of multiples!

UPDATE: I've received a few private and public comments about the safety of this product.  I want to add that I do not recommend this product for feeding your child while unattended.  It is not recommended to leave a child with a propped bottle due to choking, suffocation, and ear infection risks.  This product has only been used in our home with my baby under my direct supervision.
