Wild Mountain Mommies Review!

Wild Mountain Mommies was created by a frustrated mama who could not find a diaper that would stand up to her super soaker son.  Since he has sensitive skin and would break out in rashes from disposable diapers she had to come up with a better alternative.  Wild Mountain Mommies cloth diapers was born shortly after.

I purchased this awesome All in Two (AI2) diaper a few months ago from the Wild Mountain Mommies shop.  I love this camo print!  

This particular AI2 is a one-size diaper with 4 different rise settings.  It's made to fit babies from 10-35+ pounds.  There is a single row of waist snaps with crossover tabs to ensure a great waist fit for even the small babies.  

You can see the difference in the rise settings in the photos below. 

The inside of this diaper is lined with super soft micro fleece which provides a nice stay dry effect for the baby.  The snap in soaker is comprised of two "petals" which are sewn together.  The bottom petal is made up of 2 layers of hemp fleece.  The top petal is made up of two layers of hemp fleece then topped with a layer of coordinating, soft micro fleece.  When folded, that's up to 10 layers of absorption!  This would hold up to even the heaviest super soaker!  

Another thing that I really like about the soaker is that you can fold it to customize where you want the most absorbency.  I also love the coordinating fabric that matches the inside of the diaper to give a stay dry effect for baby.  

Now, onto the fit.  Since I've had this diaper since for 3 months, I can show you how it fit on a 14 pound 3 month old versus a 19 pound 6 month old. 

Here it is on my little man at 3.5 months old, on the smallest settings:

At 6 months old, we're on the 2nd rise setting and still have plenty of room to grow!

This diaper fits my little guy really well!  The elastic across the back and around the leg openings is gentle enough not to leave red marks but still holds in messes really well.  

The inserts are super absorbent and we've yet to have a leak.  I did make sure to prep the inserts several times before using since they're primarily made of hemp.  I just threw it in with clothes and towels to strip it of it's natural oils and get it to it's state of maximum absorbency.  As with most AI2 systems, when you gain in absorbency you lose in trimness.  This AI2 isn't my trimmest diaper, but I don't mind a little extra bulk, especially when I get such great performance with no leaks.  Besides, I love a fluffy bum! 

I love AI2s because you get to customize your absorbency without having to stuff a pocket and the drying time is much faster than an AIO.  Even though the insert of this AI2 if made mostly of natural fibers (hemp), the drying time isn't bad at all since it's a petal system with two flaps.
